This is pretty much where I thought we would be at this point. Anyone projecting a quick exit can file that under wishful thinking. The legal maneuvers alone can make this a very long, drawn out and painful experience for all involved.

the only reason the ACC might settle is if FSU/CU gets favorable court rulings. The ACC needs to be pressed to accept something over nothing.

It will get settled by ESPN/Disney. If they want Clemson and FSU in the SEC instead of the ACC it will happen.

Very early in the legal process. If the duo of doom benefits from some favorable rulings going forward, we may gain some leverage. Regardless, we had to initiate litigation to apply pressure. Bottom line, the top half of the schools in the ACC cannot be happy with the current income projections. Only CU and FSU had the stones to lawyer up. The remaining dreg schools are hoping the GORs holds to 2036 and are happy with any scraps thrown to them.

You cannot have an organization if parts of it have purely personal interests that are placed ahead of the corporate good! Clemson has produced modern (CFP) natties and multiple trips to the prom...we did our part when nobody else in the conference was playing much football...the conference has improved with maybe the exception of Syracuse, VT, and Sueyville! Now a couple of children want to run away from home...I understand FSU...if the can't buy a football team they couldn't beat Mercer but Clemson is still top notch...Dabo has not chased the portal, to the chagrin of most on this site and except for the DJ debacle has done very well! We still have or had great respect in college football circles but now we have to find a way out and make a villain out of the ACC in the process! Good Luck...most judges, even FSU ones are not fools!

Actually, the longer this goes on, the worse it gets for the ACC.

Clemson cannot afford to stay and are SUING the ACC for "slander." And Philips is optimistic??? He's flat out lying now. I get it, he has a job to do, gotta tow that party line. But that's beyond laughable being optimistic when a founding member is suing you for slander.
The GOOD THING, is we are going to be just fine. UP and ONWARD CLEMSON NATION!

I'm not arguing with you...I just assumed the suit was basically "You can't hold us to this unfair contract" type of stuff. I hadn't heard that we are accusing the ACC of slandering us.

The ACC WILL NEVER, EVER be better than 3rd or 4th in producing revenue for its members. NEVER. Phillips is FOS when he says the ACC is doing well.
FSU AND CLEMSON are 100% out. UNC maybe. W/O those teams, and others will follow, ESPN may keep the contract but it will be a much reduced one, probably half of what it is now. If the ACC is smart and if it wants to survive it will go and bring in the best basketball teams it can get and become what it has always wanted, a basketball conference.

You folks are law stupid...if there is no blatant fraud the ACC has already won! When did you know or when should you have known? Why did you participate in the contract for 10 plus years, praise it then all of the sudden dissent? How much excess revenue did you take freely as a result of the contract? What did your university lawyers advise when they reviewed these contracts? Who gave you an idea to sue? If you hayseeds can't answer these questions to a primary or appellate judges satisfaction we are screwed...and that's before copywrite & intellectual property laws are applied! Schmedlap Farquar & Aardvark are not very corporate lawyers...ESPN ain't even in yet!
