Greenville was a money maker for the ACC but were going to have it N.C., even if they lose money.

25 or so years later and a population 3 times the size of Greenville. I wouldn't be bragging about that too much.

It never was in Greenville. It was Mauldin at the old G-Braves stadium.

Rather see it in CLT vs Durham where it draws nothing but several hundred Duke fans and a bunch of UNc and Nancy fans.

successful hosting site, but also reformatted the whole thing with this pool play in order to coerce more fans to attend a full week as their team wouldn't leave too quickly due to no double eliminations.

Nothing says Memorial Day Weekend like Greensboro, Durham, and Charlotte NC.

Hills. Mountains. Falls. Rivers. Lakes. Food. Packed houses at the ballpark stated G-Vegas' Memorial Weekend chops pretty well.

I believe it would be much more successful in the greenville area . I do remember a Maryland vs Duke Wednesday morning game would at least have enough fans in the stand to give it an atmosphere of a sporting event. Clemson vs anyone would sellout and with it being double elimination, you’d get to a 7 o’clock Clemson game at 6:30, and Georgia tech vs NCState would just be in the 4 th inning so half that game would be played in a full stadium. It had much more of a ACC basketball tournament feel to it. The team who lost the previous game would sell their tickets to Clemson fans who did not buy a tournament pass. I’ve been to Durhams stadium and while a nice place, it was sad how few fans cared. It would take a NCSU vs UNC to even get 7k in there and you still had to depend on those 2 teams matching up to even get that.

The difference in the atmosphere isn’t even debatable and will only ever be matched if they move it back to Greenville and Flour Field
