Now...take a look at this chart...
Point is the top marginal INCOME tax rate is meaningless if you want to raise revenue. It's lip service, nothing more.

I don't understand this argument

"Well if we increase the marginal tax rate they won't pay it"
Then pass laws to make cayman island accounts etc illegal. Then let's find some politicians with enough balls to put them in jail if they do.

That's kinda that fella's point though. Politicians are

bought and paid for. They're millionaires as well. Both sides. They have no interest in actually paying more in taxes (for obvious reasons), and certainly don't want their billionaire benefactors paying more taxes. It's a rigged system, but it isn't new.

How about we just stop asking the government to use violence to steal from people?

The government forces you to relinquish your finances, assets, and other things to them, otherwise they use armed men and a stifling, complex bureaucracy to ruin your life either temporarily or permanently.
The government has a monopoly on violence. Everything the government does operates on tax dollars, which you must surrender to the government, otherwise they force you to pay up.

Can you add a 3rd line for govt spending?

Somehow our government doesn't feel like they need to balance their checkbook each year. That doesn't work in any other household.

Let me help you understand what you just posted

I think you're trying to say that The lower the top tax rates are the higher the debt. Do you think there are other factors to Federal debt than the top tax RATE?
Fix number one - rates don't mean actual revenue. TOTAL TAX REVENUE was the variable you are looking for.
You can replace Federal debt with a line of federal spending and they'd look the same. So what conclusion would you draw from that? The lower the highest tax rates, the higher the spending?
Fix number two - You need to remove spending from the equations and debt all together. All you need to show is Top tax rates, Overall Marginal Rate, and Tax Revenue. Then you'd have something.
This just makes you look dumb.

Where are the guarantees of increased tax revenue

from every new budget plan or tax cut?
Appears the graph is proving both talking points wrong (higher tax rates won't always lead to higher revenue ... lower tax rates and 'growth' won't lead to higher revenue)

the historian was actually fairly calm the entire time. Tucker got triggered because he can't handle somebody not getting thrown off by his strawman arguments

My Fox afficienado father in law tells me often how I remind him of Tucker. Evidently I am a smug ### when he and I have our little debates.
He might enjoy this link.
