The Georgia State Election Board voted 2-1 on Tuesday to send a Letter of Reprimand to Fulton County for numerous violations of state law during the 2020 election and recount and direct the establishment of a monitor for the November 2024 general election, which, if not completed by July, would require referral to the Georgia Attorney General.

State Election Board (SEB) Member Edward Lindsey proposed the Letter of Reprimand due to the “clear evidence that in 2020 there were numerous violations of regulations and statutes” in Fulton County.

Calling the election conduct “unacceptable,” SEB Member Dr. Janice Johnston highlighted specific cases of violations to Georgia Secretary of State investigators, including Election Day problems regarding the security and documentation of the votes and their authenticity, particularly from advanced voting locations and ballot boxes.

According to Johnston, creating and retaining ballot images became mandatory as of February 2020, yet Fulton County purportedly failed to maintain 380,000 ballot images from the November election.

She explained that the recount, which showed “more than 16,000 electronically added votes,” did not remove those votes, prompting the SEB member to call for further investigation.

Johnston also cited a case involving advanced voting scanners that did not provide the documentation to confirm that “the votes attributed to the ten scanners were authentic” and that Fulton County allegedly disrupted the required audit trail to validate the legitimacy of the votes.

“If this is the way to conduct an election,” she commented, “then no election should be certified as true and accurate.”

She added, “And there’s no way that this election or recount should have been certified.”

You only need to be able to cheat well in a key county or two in 5 or 6 swing states to steal a close election.

Yet people mock me for saying the election was stolen. It’s not a conspiracy theory if there is concrete proof. It’s just a conspiracy.
Where are all the Trump haters? What do you have to say to this?

That’s kind of the problem, right? You break 140 election laws and the only consequence is a strongly worded letter. You don’t think that a problem Tom?

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.

No wonder the left has attempted to destroy anyone who dared question the narrative of this being the most secure election in history. They knew it was filled fraud from the get go and had to shut dissent down for as long as possible to continue living in their fantasy land. Even now they'll ignore this because the reality is that they don't care and will certainly be doing it again in 2024.

You'll forgive us for not rushing to the streets in a rage for an article posted by a PAC-sponsored fake-local-news site that openly states they're part of a political strategy to influence public opinion in swing states. You do realize that's what the Star News Network is, right?

Who am I kidding? Of course none of you know. Nor would any of you care if you did. But Lordy, it's like watching my Grandmaw biting on every telemarketer scam that rang on her phone, while the rest of us winced and shuddered and beat our heads on the wall in frustration. It really is.

I suspect there is a reason they are sending a sternly-worded letter instead of arresting everyone involved. Georgia Star News undoubtedly knows that too.

Does anyone think Georgia - which is still dominated by a GOP state legislature and led by a Republican governor - would hesitate to act on credible information?

That sentiment…’don’t trust anything’ proves just how effective all this dis/misinformation and noise to destroy trust in our institutions and processes has been. This is right out of Steve Bannon’s playbook…just flood the zone with $hit.

Yup. The so-called "firehose of falsity."

The solution to all this deliberate flood of disinformation, though, is pretty much the same as it was with the rest of the Internet - treat anything from unverified or known disinformation sites as spam, and filter it right out.

The fallacy a lot of us are indulging in is the "reasonableness fallacy". The disinformers keep presenting us with dog turds and insisting there are actually diamonds inside, if only we root through it...and they act like it's our duty to root through it if we're reasonable. Meet us halfway, they say.

To which I say: $^$# no. We know what, say, Jack Posobiec is about; he's the one who invented that whole vicious Pizzagate conspiracy theory that almost got Comet Ping-Pong Pizza in DC shot up by a thoroughly confused Marine who was convinced the pedos had kids locked in their basement. Who then discovered, after shooting the locks off closets and holding everyone at gunpoint for hours and tearing the building apart, that there was in fact...no basement. Oops.

Why on Earth would anyone ever listen to a thing Posobiec again? But he's still spouting vicious lies to this very day. In my head, I just go: click. I genuinely do not care what the man says about anything ever again, he's shown his colors and his credibility is burned. Ditto for, say, ZeroHedge, which was exposed in freaking 2016 as a Russian disinformation site based out of Bulgaria that was run by the oligarchs' money launderers...but the MAGA's keep posting dog turds straight from ZeroHedge to this very day.

Why do we indulge this crap? At some point, just apply your filters and turn it off. If somebody won't adhere to minimum journalistic standards, there's just no point in ever listening to them again. And while AI also makes it far, far easier to generate mass amounts of pure bullsh!t, AI also makes it possible to identify it and tune it right out. Which is exactly what's going to happen on a mass scale...the same way the world tired of telemarketers and found legal and technological ways to block them.

Yes…and as I posted in the Maricopa thread…this place (politics board) is now full of figurative flat-earthers…although I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a few actual FE’s here as well. Either way, weeding through the crap on this site has become almost not worth the effort.

They may or may not be lying…who knows…but what they shouldn’t do is try to equate this with any sort of election conspiracy. It’s irresponsible…but I guess it gets clicks. What they should do instead is ask what those that are making a big deal out of this hope to gain…that’s where the real misdeeds lie.

Wait so you are saying that the fact Fulton County broke 140 election laws/rules isn’t true? WOW

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seriously, who knows if it's true? Somebody on the SEB is alleging this.

May 15, 2024, 1:30 PM

That is the extent of the information that either of us has, and you have decided that this is stone-cold fact. This is analagous to determining guilt (or innocence) before a trial. People have alleged all kinds of election misconduct, especially right after the 2020 election, and judges threw out nearly every one of the cases (save one, that amounted to nothing) due to lack of standing or evidence. Fulton County and Maricopa County were both audited multiple times.

Again, allegations in a letter from an individual on an election board is decidedly NOT the same thing as "facts", and even if they ARE true, they're procedural issues. The board member didn't allege fraud anywhere, you just made that part up because you really, really want to believe it's true.
