Would a major pgm hire CBB? No. Would a major pgm hire CDS?

I actually don't think so. My how things can change in five years.
History will remember CDS kindly, but he's making it harder. But, with his buyout and with the need to fund NIL... CU is in a tough spot. It's really starting to seem like the emperor has no clothes on. Neff is the key here.. I don't think CDS will clean house unless he is ordered to do so, and I'm not sure a young AD is going to do that with a coach that has two trophy's.

But, as you just stated, the trophies were from a few years ago. The college football landscape has changed drastically over the past 4-5 years. Neff AND Dabo must realize this.

Dabo wont be in danger of being fired anytime soon if ever, but to your point about any other major programs hiring him, you may be partially correct, LSU attempted to hire him before kelly and Auburn also attempted to hire him. But would an Alabama Georgia Southern Cal, Ohio State go after him.....i doubt it.

Dabo is Clemson coach for life if he wants the job. Neff would never fire him and the BOT would never let him. Plus, Clemson fans fall in love with a coach, not the team.

Lol ok, sure buddy. A million schools will gladly take Dabo. He built a national power and the best 15 years in school history. Crack open another 6 pack though. I'm sure you'll find all the answers in there.

Dabo would be hired by every D1 school if they needed a coach. You don't think UVA wouldn't hire him if tgey fired TE? You don't think T&am wouldn't hire him? Dabonis still top 5 coach, you guys are crazy to think that he wouldn't be offered a D1 job if that school had an opening.
Dabo already said he would have to use the portal if he went to a different school until he had his culture and recruiting areas figured out. But he believes in what he has built at Clemson and will continue to recruit HS players that fit the culture.
Some of yall dont know chit about college football and are delusional!

"Every program would.." wut???? We've got a coaching staff with basically zero experience, and we're targeting Hamp Green on meaningful plays.. and Weak Florists played us to an onside kick?
Ok... try again.

Name a major pgm that would hire CDS today? And no, the Vandy's of the world are not major pgms, plus, an academic oriented school isn't a fit for Dabo's cornpone style.

I imagine Alabama will offer Dabo when Saban retires.

However, I don’t really see many programs offering your teams’ coach in the future. He’ll end his head coaching career at South Carolina, but perhaps be picked up by a mid major as a lesser coordinator or analyst.

The two sports aren’t really comparable.
But the reality is that Brownell has done more with less, while Dabo is doing less with more.

The reality is that we havent heard about anyone coming after Brad or Dabo.

It doesn’t mean that other schools haven’t shown interest, or wouldn’t be interested.
I don’t think Brad would be considered for a top job, but his record at Clemson the last 5-6 years surpasses the record plenty of other power 5 programs have had during that time. He’s well respected in the industry and is know for developing players well and running a clean program. He isn’t interested in going anywhere else right now and that’s a big reason why he isn’t mentioned for other job openings.
It’s ridiculous to think that no other power 5 program would want Brad.
It’s even more ridiculous to think that no other power 5 program would want Dabo. He’s been underachieving lately, but he has been incredibly successful at Clemson and plenty of schools would want him. They might not want to pay him $11 million a year, but they would love to have him.

You know as good as I do that Brad is a program guy for football schools... I do agree he plays his role very well... but no serious basketball program is giving him a look...

Do you really think Venables would leave Oklahoma to come here, or Kirby Smart would leave Georgia, or Riley would leave SC? Seriously?

If DS tended his resignation tonight, there would be a.traffic jam from DKS past the Esso Club and fist fights and maybe shooting to get into the AD office by noon tomorrow

Our young AD is smart enough to understand that we do not have the talent we have had and to leave Dabo alone.

Isn’t he the reason (ultimately) why we don’t have the talent we once had? It’s his program he’s the ultimate say on who gets a scholarship and who doesn’t. So you can’t say it’s not his fault because we just aren’t as talented as we once were.

I dont think so. Dabo got lucky on a lot of things

along the way. I don’t think he could go somewhere else and build a program from the ground up again. He’s a good leader and a good recruiter, but that’s about it. He had a perfect storm of some great NFL talent and great coordinators. He absolutely gets credit for recruiting them and hiring them, but I don’t think he could put it all together again. I wouldn’t hire him if I was an AD at another big program. Mid-tier? Absolutely. But not top 10.
