From Michael Carvell's twitter last night...
'@RecruitingAJC: Would've taken Cordarrelle Patterson over Hopkins at WR. Patterson is a freak. Can't coach what he does with the ball in his hands'

Especially considering the commentary Chuckie and Kiper gave for Patterson. Yeah, he's good in space, but he has far too many drops, is a lazy route runner and needs to grow up.
Chuckie: He's completely raw. Heck, he's a JuCo player!

The Texans wanted a player that was pro ready. Not one that was raw. Say what you want but Nuke Hopkins is NFL ready. If you dont believe me ask LSU's defense.

How him having this opinion makes him scum. He is very likely not alone, considering how close the two players' draft positions were.

I mean other than the general homerism. Patterson looks to have a very large potential upside. The risk with him is will he ever get it at the next level.
Nuk appears to have the skills necessary to step in and continue what he's been doing at the college level.
It's two different values and there are some NFL folks (coaches, GM's, fans and reporters) who think the NFL system will make a diamond out of potential and thus (in my opinion) overvalue perceived potential.
But it's not an attack on Nuk to argue that point.

He puts greater importance on what people are alleged to have said & done, rather than what they have actually said & done.
His entire career is a Twitter feed... 'nuff said.

Remind me again which NFL franchises consult Michael Carvell before making their draft selections or actually give a $#!7 what he thinks?

Do NFL Franchises call people on TigerNet before making selections? If not, are they not allowed to post opinions about it, as they have been?

What he is actually saying is that he would draft on potential (yet unproven) upside rather then proven consistency. I'm much more in the second camp, but I understand folks in the first.
His way of thinking is the very reason Logan Thomas from VT will get drafted somewhere. It's about potential.
However we all know Nuk is ready to play pro ball. He's shown his hands, his double move, and his willingness to go over the middle.
