Since Dabo only excelled because of once in a generation talent

You have to give him a ton of credit for also bringing in once in a generation talent in Tajh Boyd and Kelly Bryant. We got 3 straight 10+ win seasons and two huge bowl victories out of Tajh and Kelly Bryant led us to an 11 win playoff appearance season
And you really have to give credit to Dabo for landing once in a generation talent in Hunter Renfrow. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, LSU all were heavily recruiting Renfrow. Glad we landed that once in a generation talent in that hotly contested recruiting battle. And you have to give credit to him for landing once in a generation talent Wayne Gallman, whom Georgia was desperately recruiting to play linebacker.
If you think about Dabo landed a whole lot of once in a generation talent to have 12 straight 10+ win seasons.
Also kind of funny how 4 star Deshaun Watson was once in a generation talent but 5 star DJU and 5 star Cade aren’t

"Since Dabo only excelled because of once in a generation talent"
Dabo succeeded because he is one of the greatest amateur football coaches of all time. College football became semi-pro a couple years ago and Dabo either cannot or will not adapt to it.
It's a sad story. Dude spent his whole life learning how to coach amateur football players then amateur football disappeared.

but that doesn’t mean I won’t criticize him. I think he should bench Cade at least for a few series. We do need to let about three assistants on the offensive side of the ball go after this season. I criticized Dabo last year for not replacing DJU with Cade earlier. Turns out I was wrong about that one, with the way Cade has played this season.
Big time difference between a little criticism and wanting Dabo gone/the program is now doomed/o h my gawd Dabo gets paid too much kind of attitude

"Do you dislike him and want him gone?"
I like Dabo as a person and want him to stay BUT ONLY IF he stops being so stubborn and arrogant and actually fixes his past mistakes, like refusing to use the portal. If he's not going to do that then I want him gone because he's sentencing Clemson to be a perennial 8-4/7-5 crap team with the way he currently operates.
"or just frustrated and feel like he will never change?"
I am frustrated and I figure he probably won't change, but I hope I'm wrong and he does change.
"Or just here to defend Tyler?"
Tyler was right, but he doesn't need me to defend him. Clemson's 4-4 record and awful play this year prove Tyler right
"or just stir the pot in general?"
Of course I'm here to stir the pot. People like me make message boards fun.

Live by the Portal...

Die by the portal. You think that portal recruiting is the solution, but I guarantee you it is ruining college football. Dabo is against it because it is hard enough managing an 84 man roster without the players lost to the portal. If you think that bringing in portal transfers is going to make that job easier then you are delusional. That door swings both ways. Dabo is recruiting kids that he believes want to be at Clemson, and whether you like it or not he is loyal to his players. You open pandora's box you better be ready for the players to come and GO.

Say what you want about the portal, but we are losing to teams that have gotten way better then they have a right to be because of the portal.
I have a very, very difficult time believing anyone thinks it would be bad to add help on the OL, WR, a real threat to Cade at QB, and a speedy back. Also, there will be pretty major losses on defense. Do we really think no one here already leaves the program?

Its TRUE - the AMATEUR ACADEMIC versus PROFESSIONAL sides

…demand TWO (2) completely different views as to HOW you fill you roster.
In the AMATEUR case, the mindset must be heavily focused on PLAYER OUTCOMES. In the PROFESSIONAL case, the mindset must be heavily focused on TEAM/ORGANIZATIONAL OUTCOMES.
In BOTH cases RESULTS in the form of WINS & LOSSES matter. They differ drastically in HOW you achieve those results.

That is such a stupid argument. Where did that Generational talent come from? A Genie in a bottle? It came from a college walkon wide receiver coach who went against his HC's advice and recruited a RB out from under Bobby Bowden and FSU as well as finding talent like Gallman, Renfrow and Etienne. He had the vision and moxie to hire a great staff to recruit that talent. Yes, the jury is in deliberation as to whether he still can recruit enough of that high level of talent and we will have to see. If it was easy we would not be 1 of the 2 teams that have won more than half of the CFP Championships!

How are 2 QBs that were born within 4 years of each other, both generational talents?

Trevor was, there was nowhere near the hype for Watson..

coming out of high school. He was a four star and highly recruited, but he was around 175-185 pounds coming in his freshman year. People started saying that about Watson just because we were winning so much with him and they were jealous of our success and made that as the only reason we were successful.
