Some recruiting updates for those interested. After checking out Twitter and some of the paid sites, here is the latest, I have No inside information, it is all out there if you search...don't shoot the messenger just sharing what is out there.
*KJ Bolden-Crystal Ball from Wiltfong *Ethan Grunkemeyer-most current QB target committed to Penn State over the weekend *Jeremiah Beaman-DE target, committed to Alabama over the weekend *Jonathon Paylor-WR target, OV has been cancelled *Omillio Agard-CB target, is moving on from us *Sammy Brown-long story here but UGA hosted some top recruits who decided to schedule a throwing session at Brown's high school as a way to show him how bad they want him to join their class. Typical UGA gamesmanship. Also, Brown meets with UGA DC/LB coach this week. Appears to be a heavy trend towards UGA.
I know it is a long ways to go until December but this is all less than ideal news. Dabo and team need to have a dynamite OV weekend in two weeks to change the tide.

Agard isn't moving on from us. Clemson and a few other schools are moving on from him.

Sorry, for Bolden, Crystal Ball from Wiltfong is for UGA.

What's frustrating about Brown is if you remember, we offered him in March of last year vs. June. It is the first time Dabo had every offered someone before June 1st, we tried to make this one special. We have been recruiting him incredibly hard for many years as he really is a perfect Clemson fit (family, work ethic, values). We have invested heavily in him, this one will hurt. Assume either Trotter or Carter are gone next year, he was a day one starter.
You never know it is still early but it feels like this one is slipping away. He seems like once he makes his mind up, it will be a done deal.

Brown is really the only one out of these that comes as a “surprise”. UGA has really made a push with him here lately and probably lead with him. We’re still very much in it with him, but have a lot of work to do. He’d be a big miss.

Georgia can throw 100k at any defender they want. Pretty hard for guys on the defensive side of the ball to ignore that kind money family environment or not.

Some of y’all need to calm down about Sammy Brown. Don’t forget the big recruiting weekend is coming up and he is attending. He’s visited us equal, if not more than Georgia. We absolutely have a shot of making an ever lasting impression at that weekend. Until crystal ball start to fall don’t worry about it.

which is important when every WR coming out of hs claims sub 4.5 speed, many w/ only their word as corroboration. We led a 5-6 weeks ago; now no longer on the radar and he's getting CBed to USuC???

Yes, that is an unquestionable statement of fact. It's possible this began in March of 2021, when they offered 2 instate recruits who happen to be the #2 OT & #3 OT in the nation coming out of hs '24. We waited another 15 months before offering probably through the US postal service. Both are now USuC commits—

The ACC is dragging down its best. Pretty wild that it's not even a dominate basketball conference anymore either tbh. What good is it staying for Clemson, FSU, Miami, UVA, VT, etc?
All these other conferences are running away with money and NIL.

We have a big weekend coming up.
That will tell us a lot going forward with this class.
Can’t help but feel like our recruiting has slipped. Add on that we never take transfers and it’s scary. We have to hit it out of the ball park and coach them up (our “fall back” guys that will need developing)
Hopefully Riley will put a jolt in recruiting this fall once athletes start seeing our play.
Also it’s time for Dabo to consider looking at making some more changes (WR, RB, OL) coaches. Love those Clemson guys BUT they’re in over there heads. Hopefully we can bring back Jeff Scott to help with recruiting.

I got the impression from listening to Coach S. Tonight that he was really looking forward to this season. The Tigers are only a few players away from healing up and becoming big time guys. Hopefully when September comes we can put the first team on the field for the first time in a while. I can’t wait. But I’m always an optimist when it comes to Tiger sports.

Slice it anyway you like. But this year with CK2 and G. Riley will put Tiger recruiting back on track IMHO.

Everyone take a deep breath, remember how last June went? After this weekend we exploded with recruits. It’s how Dabo does it & it seems to work.
Yes Bolden was CB’d but that is not a guarantee & he is still visiting Clemson. Even Wiltfong has missed on his predictions.
Sammy Brown visited UGA & still has not been CB’d anywhere by anyone.
I’m very optimistic about this class. Not to mention Mike Matthews is seen to be a heavy lean towards Clemson, & Eddrick Houston has not been CB’d anywhere & he made it a point to schedule his first official visit at Clemson. So that’s good news too.
I’m going to wait patiently because I truly believe we are about to make a giant splash on June 2nd.
Mark my words, we will be shocked by who ends up committing.

I really hope you are right. Not having a QB at this point is tough as that individual in many instances, will rally fellow commits to reach out to potential recruits. Minus LB, DE and WR, I feel really good about our 2-deep but after that it seems like we have gotten very thin.
Good to hear you are seeing different news on Matthews as last I saw he was a Tennessee lean.
Fingers crossed June 2-4 our coaches and staff nail it.
