To the guy in premier seating to the right of home plate

You are approx. 70 years old and have a white beard and sit on the third row with your wife. She seems like a really nice lady and smiles a lot. Please stop yelling at our players if they make an error or a pitcher walks a batter. That hurts our team. Out of respect for an elder, I didn’t say anything last year. I’m tired of hearing it, and I will call you out if you do it at the Winthrop game today, or at the FSU series this weekend. I really don’t want to embarrass you, but our players do not deserve to be yelled at. Again, PLEASE STOP YELLING AT OUR PLAYERS.

Ok Karen!…if it’s cursing or things like that I get it. But also gotta remember that these are d1 athletes. They are playing at clemson and big time baseball program and conference. I would yell when Monte was hear and occasionally I’ll say come on ….pick it up. Swing the bat!! Things in that nature. I’m sure you won’t say anything and he won’t care what you have to say. Most people on the internet act all big and bad.
Go tigers worry about yourself

Lmfao it’s funny how someone calling a person out for being an ignorant pos is considered a Karen. I hope someone’s at your work yelling at you all day. Looking at these kids like they aren’t human just shows how you’re nothing but complete garbage.

This guy obviously never played sports. Getting yelled at for screwing up is the norm and also expected. There’s also this phenomenon where the crowd and noise disappears when you’re playing. It’s only when you’re in the dugout and not hyper-focused on the game that you even hear the crowd. Such a snowflake. SMH.

I’m not entitled I have connections and been around the block. But I’m not the one originally complaining and taking me problems to tnet. If there is an issue I’ll confront first hand not act big and bad on social media.

I also don’t think it hurts our team. Look at the record! Most guys even in the pros block out the outside noise. You might be the one that was behind me one game i heard complaining about the students yelling to the outfielders or the opposing team and the Cajun and cheap seats.

After thinking about this, I think the right thing for me to do is to quietly walk over to talk to him politely and respectfully in a non-confrontational manner. I’m not trying to be some kind of badass, I just hate to see our players publicly berated and I have the balls to say something. It also makes us as fans look like we are trash. We are better than that. We are not trashy coot fans. To publicly embarrass him would be wrong. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
The people on this thread that think it’s ok to yell at and berate the players have never played competitive baseball and most definitely did not play pitcher. When fans yelled like that at me, they got in my head. That hurts the team and causes more walks and errors.
PS: The umpires are fair game.

or it's directed to my son, a friend, a person unable to defend themselves, or I'm backed in a corner, I mostly ignore it. In three years it will not matter anyway. I know it can be hard, just enjoy the game as much as possible.

So you have a thin skin and let something someone says or does control your game or the things you do. These players know this playing at a big d1 program. They block out the outside noise. Coaches too. I coach locally and I hear things and players during games. We control ourselves and let what we can control take over. I have played collegiately. Not d1 but I have also worked in a d1 program. If someone was cursing and saying demeaning things ok …but I highly doubt that and I’m sure others would get on the fan even security (epi). He isn’t breaking rules. You wanna hear a little worse go to student section in left field or the cheap seats.

Now I pretty much agree with your last post. IMO, this white bearded fella can say pretty much whatever he likes. If he gets out of line with his mouth, I feel certain either the coaching staff, umpires or security would have words with him.

This is hilarious. The players could care less. If you honestly believe this man is hurting their feelings, YOU have a problem. Athletes rarely even hear crowd noise. I know because I played sports semi professionally for 15 years after college. The only time I ever heard the crowd was after the play stopped. I certainly could have cared less about what they said. I let my playing do my talking. The best way to shut a heckler up is to win the game. Hit a home run. Make an incredible play.
Also, you all seem to forget what a fan is. Fan is short for fanatic. Unreasonable love or support for a team. It’s also called free speech. If he isn’t yelling hate speech, you’re the ones that need to shut up. You better believe I screamed at DJ for not recognizing zero coverage and running the ball when it should have been checked to a pass play. No safeties with 8 men in the box and he would run right up the middle. Anyway. Live and let live. Maybe his grandson is on the team. Maybe his son. Too many unknown variables for PC police to reach this kind of over reaction.

Honestly, a fan has no business saying anything to players while they are in a game. Those situations can get heated very fast, and don't forget those guys are young and in tip top shape, yelling insults at them can get your butt kicked very fast...

It could happen but most players and coaches block that stuff out and have to at this level and it’s only gonna get worse if they reach the next level.

That’s hilarious. Fan is short for fanatic after all. Last I check free speech is still a right. As long as it isn’t hate speech the guy can say whatever he wants to anyone. Yeah buddy, those violent fan and player interactions are rampant! 🤣

Maybe it was too cold …once again all talk on the internet. Knew it was too good to be true. Bummer I had hit chocolate ready.
You must not be the person I was talking about. The guy I was talking about was not at the game last night. I was there. Probably for the best since this has escalated out of control on TigerNet. I’m not interested in a big confrontation, all I want is for the yelling at our players to stop. It hurts our team.

I yelled some last night. Didn’t hurt them. So did some others around me. What was the final score? These guys have thick skin. Fans and do what they want so might wanna be careful pissing off some big donor or something. If the yelling gets out of hands epi or team officials would have a dealing with. I don’t think it’s hurting much bc of the record. I’ve played and coached you are gonna get people yelling things at this level and some might have been exposed at younger levels…I know I was bc my hs team everyone hated. But I know this team blocks out the outside noise just like football. It’s apart of the culture. Does a player really care what a fan is saying or doing?…no they are focused on the team and how they can help and doing the job.
I’m really intrigued to see who this guy is…I sit on the home side behind the on deck circle second row.

BUT, especially these days, these kids are most likely being PAID, and PAID WELL, to play a game for the entertainment of the crowd. And, in baseball probably moreso than any other sport, heckling from the crowd is a tradition almost as old as the game itself. But, if it just goes on and on, it takes away the enjoyment of the game for other fans, who ALSO paid for THEIR ticket to watch the contest.
I guess I am saying, "Can't we all just, get along?" OOPS, we all know how that turned out for Jack Nicholson in "Mars Attacks!"

I get what your're saying but the players (equality sports) are not getting paid well! Maybe some extra $$ to help offest the 25-50% they are receving in aid.

I just saw this post although it started 4 days ago 😳. I don’t think yelling at players and coaches is cool but not so much for them as for me. I don’t wanna hear that Sh&@ when I’m at a game. Every once in awhile is ok and I know me and my husband have done it at times. It’s the constant chattering that makes me want to turn around and tell the goober behind me to shut the eff up! We had a turd sitting behind us at the Clemson-South Carolina baseball game in March yapping the entire time right in my ear. Every pitch this cat was chattering crap that only we in the outfield stands could hear. No players, coaches or umps were anywhere close enough to hear him. A buffoon he was.

Why not go tell him if you are so concerned. Why put it on tiger board. Seems like you want others to do it for you. Please
