Klubnik ready to let it rip in the second half of the season

Glad he says it out loud, but now go do it on the field. He needs to play with more instinct and less overthinking. It is like he is trying too hard to make the perfect play every play. And while that is admirable, you ain’t got all day to be perfect out there. At least not with this O line. You got about 2.5 seconds most plays and that means you have to look at maybe 2 options, decide and act in that window. Will you miss an open guy or make a sub-par choice here and there? Yes. But you can’t worry about that. You will hit a few too. The key is to have a positive play and live to go for another play.
And the whole time you are out there, have fun. Laugh. Try to enjoy the challenge of making the other team pay. Play like no one is watching.

Talk is cheap! And so far, Klubnik is a major disappointment for a five star recruit!

I think that what helped the Jeff Scott receivers make so many plays and look so good in the games, it was that Jeff taught his guys all about what a double move could do with helping them to open and staying open for the few seconds that it takes the QB to get the ball to them, and even as fast as Sammy was, he was one of the best with the double move, and it helped to score a lot of TDs as a receiver on our Tiger teams!!!!

TAKE CONTROL CK2 . Do not slow mesh hand off ever

Only throw to WRs that deserve the ball. Will Shipley is an All Purpose Back (catching) and is not a running back (Fresh ETN showed the same level of skill at the position as Junior SH1P - that's just fact. I watched all of the vs, top 15 opp from 2016-2020 games)

"Two top OBs in a row," is assuming that Cade will not...

become a better QB than DJ. I will be kind and call that an exaggeration.
Imo, we've already seen that Cade is better now than DJ will ever be. His first step alone puts him in a different league. His growing ability to his a crossing route is another factor.
He still struggles to look over his prospective receivers at this point and like DJ stares right at his primary but that will be corrected with experience. You can see that by seeing WR's and others not taking the play off when they aren't the primary.

I predict that Cade will take off when Will Shipley is not

his RB
if will does the whole senior year thing ... Cade will not develop to his full potential.
DJU quit running after handoffs to his RB and never went into physically push or block him for a reason. If people ever noticed last year, the teammates never really got amped off of SH1P like the fans do. Same with Skalski.

Remember, Shipley did miss a few games in 2021 and has not completed this season. Also, the Oline has not helped much.

Defenses know they can attack our QB every play

and chases down our RB with 1 DB in the off chance he breaks loose. if we had someone that could burn defenses alive in a foot race, we would be undefeated last season and this season.

Really good coaching wins rings and gets their guys in the NLF as high draft picks!!! Just going through the motion of what each position is supposed to do just isn't enough, coach them up to do it better than your opponents!!!

Would like to see the offense go hurry up on each possessions and just play with instinct. If you think long you will play wrong. Here’s hoping the game plan for rest of year is not for CK to “let it rip” on just swing passes to the side all game.

As a 98.5%er, it would be greatly appreciated if we were ready to let it rip in week one.

I think it takes longer for a freshman QB to excel when his OL and WR and RB are avg. Watson didn’t look so hot his first year. In 8 games he threw for 1466 yds and 14 TDs. CK has 1370 and 11 thru 6 games. Nobody else on that bench is better at this point.

Good points. Cade hasn’t had the OL, and especially the WR talent of DW nor TL, imo.

I was taught that if you can’t say something nice about someone, then don’t say anything at all. It’s time for some of the belly aching posters to this board to take s hike. I’m sick and tired of your second guessing our coaches, putting down the QB, O line and WR’s. I wonder how many of these self-proclaimed experts played football and/or coached a team. Give us a break, say something nice about these young men who are working their butts off for Clemson. Go Tigers Beat the Canes.

I love Cade's attitude and the fact that he takes accountability for his mistakes. A player can't develop unless he accepts that he could have done better. Remember that this kid is barely 20 years old and hardly played at all last season. He is maturing quickly. We are starting to see chemistry between him and his receivers that DJ never had. That chemistry comes from experience and having confidence in each other. Just hope we have him around for 2 more years.

Having to scramble as much as he has, I think that he has done a decent job being chased all over the field. But I have no doubt that at least half of those scrambles is bc of poor WR coaching with not knowing how to get open when you're not the fastest guy on the field. Nuke was slow, but he could get open, and he took that coaching to the NFL and become one of the highest paid receivers in the NFL!!!

Based on CK's actual words in that article that's kind of a misleading title for this. I didn't see where he is saying his approach on the field is going to change much, other than continuing to improve his game and working towards playing more freely going forward.
Based on some of the responses above I wonder how many actually read the piece.
Go Tigers.
