Forget the laser and new big screen! Cut spending on extra stuff that is not material to the average fan or players. Wasted money.... typical of government bureaucracy.
Get rid of SC State, Connecticut and Wofford off our schedule, add Coastal and Appalachian State, among others and then Raise Ticket prices 20% for a better schedule. Clemson does not sell out 'filler' games (like SC State)? Other top 10 programs sell out every game, and we have better fans....
I remember single game tickets for less than $5. That is history! Just look at the Georgia game this year, tickets between $100 and $300 in Charlotte. Death Valley is a much better venue, and I would rather pay that much for the game to be in Death Valley (even Athens but not Charlotte)!
Clemson season tickets are probably the best value in college football. Our season tickets are much cheaper than other top teams. Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, and others are much more expensive than Clemson tickets. (often twice as much)

The deficit is certainly not surprising. I do find it surprising that the plan to spend $67 million is on go before the reserve fund is built up again.

Looks like season ticket sales are down by about 5,000 according to DRad. 58,000 to 53,000.

I just checked and season ticket sales are definitely down from 2018 and 2019. We cannot afford to lose that many season tickets holders. We need all hands on deck. I hope that someone is responsible for reaching out to those folks to find out why they did not renew.

I'm among the non-renewal group. IPTAY lost a majority of my donations due to the handling of ACCCG and playoff tickets last year. Distribution based solely on total points for both events, guaranteeing that the same small subset of fans got all the tickets to both. Using a lottery where your giving or points determines number of entries would have spread the tickets to a fair number of donors, but giving zero consideration to 90% of the donors told me how much they value me. I can save the IPTAY donation and use the money to buy tickets to the games I want to attend.
I left my money in last year and bought two season tickets, but dropped to a very low level this year. No one from IPTAY has reached out to ask why. They've sent plenty of letters asking for money, but never considered asking why. Even though I know that I would likely have missed out if a lottery was used, at least it would have shown that they acknowledged that every fan is valuable. When you keep your donation in and buy season tickets, but get no consideration for the big games, why keep doing the same thing?

On the flip side, I did open up 10 seats in the lower deck for someone. Always a bright side.

That 67 million $ phase 1 that's on hold will cost MUCH more next year with the way construction materials are skyrocketing.

Where's all the state covid money that's not being used and no longer needed. We could close all the test sites and that wasteful contact tracing mess... And every university and college in SC would get a slice.

Family IPTAY/ticket holders for 50+ years. Uncle had the paperwork to pass his membership/points to his sister but died unexpectedly to covid. IPTAY response; sorry for your loss, if you want to start from scratch, we’d love the money. Done.

Was a season ticket holder for 10+ years.
Dumped them this season.
Why?
Had 3 seats, 2 together and 1 separate. CU would not put them together. Had a lot 4 parking pass. CU turned that into a softball field. The season this year is 6 home games and b/c most suck; won't be surprised if most are noon games - making tailgating near impossible. Aside from that, the ridiculous amount of cops on the campus directing traffic, post game, makes traffic about 900x worse.
I paid for the experience of being at the game, on the campus. When that experience starts to suck, I watch from home for free.

Has nothing to do with the China Virus. Has everything to do with the woke squad. People are fed up with the woke squad in everything. Keep it out of our sports or were not gonna spend the money. Go woke go broke.
