TLaw having a hard time in Jacksonville.

The playcalling is awful. The receivers can’t get open. The line can’t block. The RBs can’t run. I feel sorry for him. I didn’t realize the Jags were this horrible. It’s bad. Real bad. Lawrence looks nothing like Deshaun did when he came into the league. He more so resembles Mitch Mrubisky. There may be a chance he does beat out Minshew.
Urban also looks completely lost and clueless. The OC looks like a kid just picking random plays from the Madden video game playbook.
Boy what a train wreck.

turn out more like Brady and Manning. Smart and accurate pocket passer when he had a pretty good supporting cast.

Jacksonville is the worst team in the NFL and they have a new coach that has never coached professionally not to mention he has been out of coaching for a few years.
Houston was a playoff team when Deshaun Watson got there. He also had some weapons to work with and he was able to save his ### on a lot of occasions because of his incredible athleticism. He has looked like a freaking magician the way he has gotten out of trouble and avoided sacks. 99% of the quarterbacks that have played in the NFL would have been sacked.
Clearly you were not paying attention when the consensus among NFL experts was that Trevor will probably have the least success his first few years out of the first round quarterbacks drafted this year because of how bad the team is.

Trevor’s QBR is actually higher at this point through his 2nd preseason game than Deshaun’s was in his rookie season.

You don’t get the first pick because you are world beaters. I’m a fan of the jets, they f in suck forever. Give TLaw some time. He hasn’t even had a reg season game yet.

Thats why that ETN pick was such a stretch in the 1st round. They need way too much for a RB in the 1st round.

They have no OL. They will have a top 5 pick each of the next 2 seasons too more than likely. Nothing surprising. They will be good in a few years. Put it this way, Peyton Manning went 3-13 his rookie year.

which means he's gotta get it out quick.

He's going to get hurt if he's going to consistently try to sit in the pocket and wait for something to open up downfield. Either that or he's gotta learn how to evade the pocket and throw on the run more. Third and long is now way to compete in the NFL.

I hope he does not start - let the other guy take the hits. The OL looked awful although the Saints defense is No. 1 in the NFL and they were missing the starting center and left guard I believe.

Either Jax is purposely trying to hide what they plan to do, or they just plain suck. First 3 drives all started with a run up the middle for no yards. Then on third down plays they were throwing 3-5 yard passes, when they needed 10 or more. Don't blame TL yet. Right now he isn't being allowed to audible. He has to run the play the coaches call.

pass-protect, RB's can't run, WR's can't get open, playcalling sucked, I thought TLaw did great.

Yeah its a rough go at the start but it will come along. As the season goes along, he will learn what his team can and cannot do and it will start clicking. I know they have one WR out that he will get back as well. Hopefully the OL can give him a little more time.

I’m not surprised that the complaining has already started.

This is the predictable pattern on TNet for literally EVERY Clemson star in the NFL.
1. TNet posters expect them to be superstars from day one. 2. Player struggles early on. 3. TNet posters immediately start blaming the coach, scheme, plays called, and lack of necessary supporting talent for player’s struggles. 4. Pleas for new coach, new scheme, or a trade occur. 5. Conclusion is that poor Clemson player isn’t being given a fair chance and is a victim.
Rinse and repeat.

in this thread.
I’ve read multiple posts here during the preseason complaining about poor Trevor being in a horrible situation with coaches who don’t know what they are doing and a supporting cast that is incapable.
Forgive me for realizing that it sounds just like the whining we heard when Spiller was in Buffalo, Beasley was in Atlanta, etc.

So I guess the play calling is now good, the receivers are getting open and the line is blocking well? Strange that all of those things clicked at once.
