So proud of Morris

for being able to weather all this adversity amidst our fairweather fans this season!
All you haters, how many Clemson Offensive Coordinator of the year awards DO YOU HAVE? How many plays have you called in an Orange Bowl?
That's what I thought. Now hush yer mouth and watch the Chad work.

Do I have to be a doctor to know I have a cold?

Similarly, I don't need to be an OC to know that there is some weirdness in Chad's play calling. I like Chad and think he's doing a fine job...just seems a little stubborn and unable to adapt to the opposing defenses on occasion.

Runny nose, cold sweats, head feels like it's bout to 'splode.
What business you have saying you don't feel good? Are you a doctor?

Yep, it's like we've forgotten about the middle of the field

Now, that could be because of Cole's accuracy/shoulder. More bodies in the middle of the field to potentially intercept.

the interceptions.... He's tall and less mobile so adapt to more of a pocket passing game. Our biggest successes moving the ball were when he was spreading it around. Even in the 'Days of Danny', throw first and then the running game will follow...

That is my main concern also. That being said I wouldn't want anybody else other than CM.

What I think Chad's problem is....

Is that I don't think he's ever had this problem (with all of the injuries and players leaving) in his coaching career, well at least in college. Just look at it...we lost TB, Sammy, Martavius, Hot rod, and three starting offensive lineman. One our QBs got dismissed before season even started. Coming into this season we lost Brooks before the season even started. We lost our starting TE before the first game startred for 5wks I believe. Then we lose 2 starting offensive lineman due to injury, our best WR, star QB, and leading rusher. Our QB now was injured for a couple of Weeks and was asked to play without practicing a whole week. This offense has takin a hit and Chad is doing everything he can to keep this offense scoring and not putting this team in a bad situation. I know its something we Clemson fans arent use to seeing out of the Chad and this offense but I don't think there's much more he can do. Give it time. We will get better. Just appreciate our record, it could be alot worse. Imo, Morris is earning his paycheck this season

Honest question, what did Morris's resume look like before Clemson.

All this adversity? Some criticism? He's making $1.4M a year. I bet there are a lot of our service members who make $30K a year that would swap places with him and see what real adversity is like Remember, football is just a game.

Morris has done admirably considering the talent that the team has lost and the injuries we have sustained. I hope next year's class will load us back up and make this fun to watch again. Until then I'm happy to win based on defense.

I think 90% of Chad's calls are GREAT calls, and I believe .
Nov 3, 2014, 6:43 PM
|
|
that when his calls APPEAR to be bad calls, 90% of the time it's because the players failed to execute what he called.
Now maybe he occasionally calls plays that are beyond the ability of our players skill level ... like expecting Cole to complete some of the passes that Deshaun makes for example ... I dunno ...

I was listening to the UGA call in show. I love to listen to it when the Dawgs get beat because I love to hear them whine and moan. Kevin Butler said "whenever fans accept losing without being mad, the program is no longer excellent." Demanding excellence does not make me a "fair weather fan" or a "coot."
