when Dawn Staley's day comes and she hangs it up for good then South Carolina will end up like Tennessee when Pat Summit called it quits...The Lady Vols haven't been able to resurrect their program since and are getting ready to welcome their 3rd head coach who they just hired from Marshall

and in no way should anyone say otherwise or insinuate they cheated to win their natties.
Remember the Coot FB fans had to suffer thru 6 of our CFP invites, 4 Natty games & 2 Natty Trophies.
Yes, hurts a bit to see a rival do so well when you didn’t but we had our chances.

Oh I couldn't care less about them winning a title in a sport that is extremely top heavy and isn't competitive until the the last handful of games of the year. Congrats to them I guess? But women's basketball as a whole is a joke when the gap between talent from the top teams and middle teams is miles wide. Especially when you can practically guarantee every years 1 or 2 seed to win the entire thing. Basketball in either mens or womens isn't meant to have swapping dynasties of who runs the entire sport. Could you imagine if only 4-6 teams ran mens basketball every single year? That'd be unbearable.

Speak for yourself. They can win one hundred woman’s bb NC and this guy won’t give 2 craps. It means nothing like bass fishing and horse riding.

I’m not hurting whatsoever. They won a Women’s basketball championship. I don’t watch or pay attention to that. Didn’t even know the championship game was today until people started posting about it.

Pat Summit is one of the GOATs of Women's BB.
Same thing is probably going to happen when the guy at UCONN retires.

That is a really underwhelming hire by Tennessee. The Lady Vol fans must be ticked.

Program in based on the fact you can retain it. Once you establish yourself as an elite program, recruits flock to it and the talent becomes more clustered than other sports.

It is women's basketball, nothing more. A sport that loses money annually, and a sport that if you recruit the top ladies then you should win championships because the separation is so great from the top shelf players to the really good player. And with a 6'7 anchor in the middle, most teams will not compete with that alone much less a stellar cast around her. Just like college team playing high school team in a lot of games.
Iowa had 2 really good players and a couple of decent players. UConn and Lamecrocks have 8/9/10 top level recruits. They should win in wimmens basketball as we say around here, nothing big about it.

Coots as much as anyone, and also DETEST Dawn Staley. But, you cannot make the argument that she is not a great Womens College basketball Head Coach.
Instead of whining about her success, we should be getting behind OUR new Womens Coach, and hoping to restore OUR program to relevance.
Those who just poo poo and say wimmins basketball means nothing are just the sourest of sour grapers. They would probably be among those crowing the loudest about our success if the situation was reversed.

You're saying a program will struggle when one of the best coaches of all time hangs it up? How bold.
How do you think Clemson fares when Dabo leaves?
