I couldn't watch Ben's last putt .......

.... covered my eyes and then heard the groans. Great effort Ben! All putts are difficult when you have not been in that position in a long time. Hopefully it will get a little easier next time. I feel bad for Ben, but the way he is playing maybe he will get his status back after a solid year on the KF Tour.

Me too. Blood was pumping and stomach churning. He took that extra read and tried to regrip... But I can imagine he squeezed it tight as a drum. He'd make that putt 9 out of 10 times the way he's been rolling it. But great shot just to give him the putt. Proud of him.
And that other fella rolls in the eagle to knock Nimmer to a t11. But great round today.

I couldn't watch either!
Great job by all of the Tigers. I was really hoping Ben could pull it out and that Bryson could finish in the Top 10 to earn a spot in the Valero Texas Open. Oh well, at least Ben is going to get a spot in the Valero Texas Open. Plus, he picked up an additional 135 FedExCup points to help him move up the list.

I watched and it was heartbreaking. MY grandson had a similar thing in HS match play rivalry. It is like a gut punch.

He pulled that one, but he hit so many great putts earlier that didn’t fall.

Good news is he jumped up almost 100 spots in fedex cup points and is now inside the top 150 which gets you some starts. It's amazing what one shot or putt can cost you at the end of 4 rounds. Good showing by Martin and Nimmer and Byrd.

He will still struggle for a lot of starts this season. His T2 finish gets him into next week's Valero Texas Open. He's also pretty much guaranteed to get into the Barbasol and Barracuda Championships later in the season. However, most of the other tournaments are going to depend on how far down the category lists the fields go.
He is currently in Category 34. The order of that category gets reshuffled after the Valero Texas Open. As of now, he is projected to move up to the second position in that category, behind Byrd, once the reshuffle happens.
Now, as for the 2022-2023 season, he has put himself in good shape for improving his standing next season. If this season ended today, he would be ranked 142, which would guarantee him a spot in Category 32 next season and it would allow him to compete in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals for a chance to possibly earn a spot in Category 26, or even Category 23, for next season.

moving up in the reshuffle may give him a few starts he otherwise wouldn’t have gotten. I’m also hoping he gets a sponsor’s exemption at Hilton Head.

Agree. It looks like he is going to jump about 10 spots within Category 34 after the next reshuffle.

pulling for our guys as I whacked it about myself.
For those (like me) who are late to the Party . . . The final standings are in the attachment.
Tiger Weekend Purses: T-2: Ben Martin, 272/-16, $329,300 T-11: Bryson Nimmer, 276/-12, $89,725 T-36: Jonathan Byrd, 282/-6, $16,488.12 T-50: D.J. Trahan, 284/-4, $9,194.50
Nice showing Tigers!!!
Btw - the one shot cost Ben ~$330,000.00 (Winner’s Share: $666,000) and exemption for the rest of the year . . . Non of us have ever putted with that kind of pressure on us!!!

Thanks for the breakdown Skeet ...... didn't play today, but took my wedge, gap wedge, 54, and 58 up to the pasture to see how I hit them for the first time ....... 10 yards distance between each club (not telling hoe far though). Practicing up for a trip to Sand Hills in May!

That was heart wrenching. Ben is such a good guy and I think reflective of our golfers here at Clemson that have gone on to play professional .... at least the ones that I have known. I think Ben's struggle to get back to this level, with his back issues, always puts a little doubt in your mind whether you can ever win again and to come so close it has to hurt. Most players do not get too many opportunities to win, and he probably knows that. I think the second win is much more difficult than the first.
