God's work is amazing in so many ways. This is just one example. The million dollar view is not bad either.
Jackie and Shadow continue to sit on eggs. Shadow spent 7.5 hours on nest on Monday. The official word from the folks at FOBBV who take care of the nest is that the eggs, barring a miracle, are not going to hatch (PIP).
Everyone across America and abroad who has followed Jackie and Shadow are very disappointed. Over 35,000 people have been watching the pair tend the nest. They are the best known eagles in the world.
We can be disappointed and sad, but we can also be thankful that we have a glimpse into the lives of two of America's national symbol and have seen what majestic symbols they are and how nature has brought these devoted eagles into our lives.
This will be the last time I post this eagle watch unless a miracle happens. You may keep watching by going to any one of the posts up on tigernet and clicking on the link. I will keep watching.

I've been watching too and up until a few days ago I was still optimistic. I still cherck in once in a while as the last egg may still have a chance, as it was laid, I think, about 5 days after the first. Fingers crossed, but a little bummed out!

I have been watching daily for about a month. I was really looking forward to seeing junior grow up in the nest. It has been amazing to watch.

Your fascination with the nesting eagles, I assume you would be interested in multiple live cams. You need to visit Explore.org and you can watch live cams across the globe from eagles to penguins, to elephants, tigers, polar bears, hyenas, etc, etc, etc. Some very interesting live cams. One of my favorites is when the grizzlies swarm Brooks Fall in Katmai National Park to fatten up on the salmon run. They have all the bears named and I have watched them for 10+yrs. Big Otis is one of my favs and is the old grandpa weighing close to 1000lbs and has been known to 160 salmon in one 24hr period. I think they said it was over 200,000 calories with the skin and roe.
Enjoy the live cams: Explore.org Here is a recording of a favorite cam setup. We are a few months away from live feeds in Katmai. They also have eagles nesting in Iowa live right now not too far from my parents.

Thank you. I will definitely check out the bears. I have seen grizzlies in Alaska, and they are very large.
