We find ourselves in the round of 32 for just the 5th time in school history.

Quite an accomplishment for sure, especially since we are coming off of a big win today that was our second largest margin of victory in our NCAA Tournament history.
So proud of this team! What a great season so far. Let’s make the Sweet 16! Go Tigers!

And about as much fun as self-flagellation.
Having to CROW every time he doesn’t fail is ridiculous and laughable, but also kind of emphasizes how the exception proves the point. Not that a troll cares about such.

Well if you don’t down Dabo, with 2 national championships and multiple conference championships , to build up a coach as one of the greats JK would never hear a thing.
I believe he actually enjoys the banter!!

All I wanted was some ACC tourney wins and to actually look like we belonged in the NCAA tourney. The latter was fulfilled yesterday and exceeded expectations!

I guess it wouldn't be a cult then? It's got to have some irrationality to it to be interesting?
That's why it seems it must involve family ties or money somehow.

Worshiping Dabo and expecting everyone else to do the same, and when they don’t they are personally attacked and also have their opinions considered invalid.
It’s something I would expect from 9 year olds, not grown men.

I like him and think he is a great coach. What he has accomplished at Clemson is nothing short of amazing.
I just think he has made some really bad decisions in recent years that really hurt our program. His hubris and “don’t question me” attitude have made things worse. We went from punching above our weight class to doing less with more.
I believe Dabo is a great guy, but he isn’t as infallible as many of you seem to think. It’s weird that he can’t be questioned here or you’re labeled a hater or a Coot. It truly is cult-like.

You must not read a lot of what goes on here. There are several of us who support everything Clemson but have a problem with JK simply because he takes cheap shots at the football program in general and specifically at Dabo because he seems to think Clemson does not support basketball fairly when compared to football. I can understand his jealously of the support Clemson gives its football program but it’s the consistently childish comments from him about the football program and Dabo that I don’t like. So I have no hate for anything Clemson or for JK. I just don’t like a lot of his comments.

As if this is the year, after 14 long and painful years that CBB has figured out how to coach (recruit, develop, prepare, motivate, gameplan, adjust) *consistently* (which does not mean win every single game).
One good game in a slightly better than average season may or may not be the start of a winning tradition.
I feel good about the team having won this game, and I look forward to winning many more, if CBB can manage it. I just have zero faith that Brownell year 15, 16, 17 will be much different than Brownell year 5, 6, 7.
I sincerely and honestly hope CBB proves me wrong.

I’ll refer you to the Clemson University Men’s Basketball Media Guide, page 112. Clemson claims those games. No asterisk or mention of vacated wins. And in fact, we did play in a round of 32 game that year. Nothing the NCAA said after the fact changes that truth.

I checked the Clemson media guide and it discusses those victories in detail and lists them in the summary of our NCAA experience. There is asterisk at the bottom that mentions the official record. Why does a fan opt for the worst interpretation if our own media guide is allowed to claim the wins?

I wasn't gobsmacked. I was pleasantly surprised. Based on the drubbings the team had taken recently, I figured this game could easily have gone the same way. OTOH, if there's one thing this team has demonstrated over the course of the season is that they can beat anyone, including themselves. When they avoid the self-defeating gameplans, they can and do win.

Two, the first NCAAT for Brownell was a play-in game to get into the Round of 64. He won that first play-in game in his first season but did not advance to the Round of 32, then 7 years later got the Tigers back into the NCAAT and made a run to the Sweet 16. Three years later, he got us back to the NCAAT but lost in the first round. Three years later is this year, where we're in the Round of 32 for CBB 2nd time.

Baylor alumni.
We've already communicated about our game Sunday, and both think our Tigers are a "dangerous" team to use their adjective. Both were not hesitant to note that we play in the ACC, renowned for its basketball prowess, and Clemson is one of the powers this year. They think it will be "the" game to see Sunday, and though hopeful, they believe Clemson will give them a run for the money.
Proud of our guys and hope they are ready to storm that court and bring a maelstorm of a fire! To hellll with the oddsmakers, and Good Riddance to that pygmy New Mexico crowd of lowlifes.
You'll laugh at this: I still work and was busy as a bee yesterday, including during most of our first half. Though I had a little time as the second half started, old superstitions kicked in, and I thought, "Dammmmmit, now there's no way I can turn that ballgame on lest I jinx our boys!" So, I kept checking for the score online, as I had time, including a few times right here on TNet. A compadre at work said he didn't blame me, as he would have done the same...and he's a South Carolina fan. lol

We have 12 NCAA victories in the history of our program. CBB has a third of that total.

Well, his tenure is longer than the 3 previous coaches combined, almost, (Barnes, 4 years, 3 consecutive NCAAT, one Sweet 16; Shyatt 5 years, total suckage; Purnell 7 years, 3 consecutive NCAAT invitations) and they didn't have the 68 team field with play-in game opportunities (Brownell's first season found him in one of those and he won it).
You know, before last year, Florida Atlantic had 1 NCAAT in their ENTIRE HISTORY. They lost that game in 2002. But they won 4 NCAAT games last year in just their 2nd all-time appearance and played in the Final Four. Dusty May, their HC, has 100% of their NCAAT wins, and 2 of their 3 NCAAT invitations.

Dabo has more postseason losses than any coach in program history.

At least 2 of those were in National Championship games. Two others were in the CFP final four.
Call me when Brownell loses a National Championship game, or even a Final Four instead of a 1st round NIT home game as the #1 seed.

I was replying to one of your fold. And I thought we were talking about basketball. Why are you trying to make it into a football post?
I’ve seen you use this trick before. Feels good to hand it back to you.

It's amazing that it has happened only 5 times in all the years that Clemson has been playing basketball..

I think it was our 6th?
Regardless, so happy yesterday. I was at the game and it felt so sweet. Onto Baylor (and hopefully a sweet 16 for the 5th time ever)!

Let’s win the whole #### thing ! This team is capable and it’s crazy how much better we looked in the first half playing inside out and moving without the ball. I like hunter being aggressive getting to the rim he’s super athletic and sometimes doesn’t realize it… reminds me of Tyson , super athletic but just doesn’t realize what he’s capable of sometimes.

I’ll call this a successful season if we PLAY WELL against Baylor. We don’t have to win necessarily, but I wanna see them play well.
