Late season swoons are kinda the norm for our basketball team historically. Really hoped that pj coming back and the addition of Girard would matter. Sadly I don’t think we could win with Jordan.

Yes it is. Last night hurt. I really have been pulling for Brad because I believe he is a straightforward, good guy. I remember the hurt he had when Zion was grabbed out from under him. I will say that for me, Brad and the team need to make a statement in the NCAA tournament or Neff will have some soul searching to do.
Coaching changes hurt because families are upended. But, bottom line Clemson teams need to be in the top 25 in the country or why spend the money funding the team. Has Clemson funded the basketball program enough to be a top 25 contender? I have no idea. I do know that Neff needs to do what is necessary to right Clemson basketball, men’s and women’s, and take away the narrative that Clemson does not care about basketball. The narrative should be that Clemson cares about all of the sport teams that are fielded.

Yes. Poor millionaires have to change addresses. Will they ever recover?! Tommy Bowden and Ken Hatfield were great men too. Heck, Tommy West was a great guy. Being a great guys doesn’t equate to a great coach.
Brownell is a career 61% winner. His only conference or conference tournament championships were in the CAA (2) and Horozon (1). He only managed 9 trips to the NCAAT in 23 seasons. He was one and done 8 times only winning a game in two and two in one trip. Those other three trips were with automatic conference championships as a 16 seed. That’s not very good as a coach.
Extending Brownell was the worst move Neff made. I’d have started an extensive search for the next Hurley (UConn) and showed Brad the exit. Bobby’s brother is a great recruiter and strategist on the fly. We found our identity under Brownell offensively.
It’s painful to watch the big men hurling bricks from beyond the arc and no one underneath to rebound. Because they’re all waiting for their turn to throw a brick. We had no true point guard who could penetrate and pass or shoot. Our high low give and go/screen game worked well. Chef and PJ were unstoppable in the paint. Too many empty possessions over long periods late in games. All this falls on the coach. This offense kinda looked like Westheads “the system” where the idea is to shoot so much you speed up the game and outscored people. Although Westhead had success with it even if “Winning Time” said he didn’t.
The bottom line is that Brownell needed to go about 9 or 10 years ago.

Plus, you're defining those things all wrong. You see, at Clemson, we have always sucked ### in basketball, so we can't expect or even hope to be really good; instead, we have to focus on the fact that compared to our miserable history, we did pretty good this year and last. If you grew up eating canned soup and bread sandwiches, be thankful for a McDonald's hamburger every now and then. Just be happy. Don't go getting fanciful ideas about eating high on the hog like successful people do.

Instead we got blown out by a 11 seed in the first round. The head coach is responsible for developing players and preparing them for an opponent's schemes, so Brad is absolutely responsible for this loss. The Clemson history excuse is ########. Take a look at Alabama. They don't have a great history in basketball, but after they fired their bum mediocre head coach and hired a coach that knew how to turn things around, they made it to the NCAA tourney 3 years in a row as a higher seed. Now they're ranked number 19 in the country and are projected to be a high seed in the tourney.

Simple as that.
I just saw a post on fb that Chase Hunter was 0-10. Forgive me for not checking the box score, as having watched the game, I knew no Tiger shot well - not to mention BC couldn’t miss.
Yet, “This was Brad’s fault”!? If that makes you feel better, then, okay, go with that…..

Could Brad have substituted someone for Chase? Could have played different players to find a hot hand? Could this team have been prepared for a tournament run and motivated by the coach? None of these happened last night.

"We" aren't directing the team. "We" aren't the ones not playing well because of mediocre coaching. "We" don't need to figure things out (not our job) and aren't the one who hasn't figured it out... in 14 years. "Do or die time" has seen dying not doing repeatedly year after year.

Not hard to figure out at all. Poor coaching, cannot motivate his team, does not handle in game decision making well, and does not seem to be very motivated. One and done in every tournament. Good guy, does not break rules, easy to get along with, but lacks coaching skills.

Icebreaker post 1… If Brownell, I mean Clemson would have won she would have been on here talking chit . Instead she posts to an echo chamber because 99 percent of respondents are blocked by Mrs Judge .
On a side note How the heck did her pulse finally drop below 85 percent .

I told you so. Brownell’s career record is exactly this. You’re supporting the same coach over and over expecting a different outcome. He’s only won six NCAAT games in nine appearances. He has been one and done an all those appearances except two. One year he won one. Another he won two into the sweet sixteen with a team that could have made the final four. I believe these players are better than that group. We just fold up like a cheap tent as post season arrives. Come on Judge, Brownell had 14 years. It’s time to move on.

Would you say a coach who told his players in the locker room (unproven, but probable) before the game to play "free" because they are firmly in the NCAAT would be to blame? Basically, he said, "Go out there and play and if we lose ... meh."
