Most GOP AND dem economic policy positions are rhetoric. Nothing ever changes.
Elect Biden or Trump, and we will still have illegal immigration, a massive trade deficit, a budget deficit, $34T in national debt, and a $7.25 federal minimum wage, and no universal healthcare, and capital gains won't be touched.
But by God we will carry on as if one of these two clowns matters. And they do, but mostly for running the military, and international relations, something we don't tend to attribute to the President as much as we attribute the economy to them when in fact they have no control over that. It's a massive disconnect and mass ignorance to see some "economist" critiquing Biden's/Trump's/Obama's economy. As if they have any control over that. And yet we hear ZILCH on foreign policy, as if that's an afterthought.
Like I have said before, if we want to attribute the economy to the President, we might as well elect a dictator.

If Trump is elected.
Look at what he and his cronies are proposing in Project 2025. They're trying to put way too much economic control in the hands of Trump, particularly control of the Fed. His tariff plans will be devastating.
Like I have said before, if we want to attribute the economy to the President, we might as well elect a dictator.
That's exactly what they're intending this time.

1930's. It's what the Russian people opted for with Lenin. It's almost predictable. China just did it with Xi a few years back, and they did it earlier with Mao. Venezuela and Cuba also did it with Castro and Chavez.
There's always a couple of benevolent dictators who make the entire dictator game palatable. But it never ends well.
Change has to come, we all know it. I just wish the change would come with truth and candor. And that's not going to happen.
