If I'm reading this right, Streeter is due $1,850,000 over the next two years. He can sit on his butt and make a bunch of cabbage. If he gets another coaching job, he will get the difference, which most likely there will be.
Kind of a costly mistake by Dabo and spending money like it floating up on the shores of Lake Hartwell.
For me personally, I would get fired for a bad hire and waisting my company's money.

Dabos human and he proved it. He also realized that Streeter wasn't ready for the stage, and he corrected it. Considering Dabo was a long shot, I'm sure he is trying.to repay the favor. It just didn't work out this time. Now he's fixing it. I'll take the 11-3 over ncsu, tx a&m or USuC season

Dabo could pay that with 10% of one of his yearly checks if he wanted to. Not really a deal breaker.

Most Tigeenetters seem to be happy to get a new OC with fresh ideas.
I'm sorry Streeter did not produce as expected, but I'm glad Dabo pulled the plug so Cade can benefit from a new, fresh system.
Live and learn. Admit mistakes, learn from them, and move on.

Actually, money well spent. Like investing, better to cut your losses and make it back up on a better investment, rather than simply hold on and hope for the best.

Get your point. Same for me in the real world of business but this is college football where all the coaches make huge money. A bad hire since he only lasted one year into his contract (you know, like your multi year contract in your position). Riley will be a 2 million plus per year multi year deal. Seat tax going up again to first pay for Dabo's record haul, then his Streeter mistake, and now finally, a great hire. If we can ramp up our recruiting and NIL money we can get back in the chase in a couple years. And yeah, the fans that pay for the seats and the salaries will have big expectations. We will have one of the highest paid staffs in the country - need to produce one of the best teams in the country. Like our chances at this point.

An odd perspective about Streeter's salary and the payout-feels contrived and is not likely the motivating concern that compelled you to reply-

Are you comparing what you do to Dabo? How much money do you make your company? Cmon man…. Why go there?
You know it’s not close…. And I’m sure you don’t come close to representing your company as Dabo does Clemson…. I mean the man represents football, culture, academics, all athletics, charities beyond anyone I’ve known, etc…etc..

Building/maintaining a football program is ongoing.....
1
Jan 12, 2023, 11:39 PM
|
|
....and it costs millions and millions every year. Every project has some contingency built in for the unforeseeable events which always happen. $1.8 mil is a tiny amount as a percentage of the overall cost of building and maintaining a football program. It's well within the contingency of any large project.
