Herbstreit is the second brightest after Desmond Howard

Desmond was the only one picking us against Okies. Herbstreit picked Ok, and obviously learned he was wrong - "watched game 3 times"! Is there a same type of gameday with both those guys plus Corso - it will be interesting to watch the picks!

Herpescreep, he won't be able to pick in this game, will he. I mean, I thought that the guys working the game, didn't pick in that game publicly. I'm I correct?

I swear I think those guys draw straws and the short straw determines who goes against the company line.

I don't think he's just trolling for viewers. He's pretty consistently said all year that we're good, and remember he sure wasn't the only one who went for Oklahoma. This story isn't a prediction as much as it is an analysis. If we bring our A game, and if both sides of our team play lights out, we can win because he thinks we have the weapons to do it. We all know he's right about that.

that Corso puts on the elephant head! He is the kiss of death.
I think it will be a low-scoring game, with both teams playing it close to the vest... I like the Tigers 27-17.

The real difference!!

Michigan State's pass defense is ranked 75th in the country. Of course Bama was able to pass against them! Kirk, get your head out of your butt and do some real analysis so you can better explain your position on this game. Clemson has a better balanced team than Bama. To keep it simple, Clemson's total offense and defense is ranked 11th and 6th respectively. Bama's offense and defense is ranked 51st and 2nd respectively. So I see the mismatch with Bama's offense going against Clemson's defense and more specifically, Bama's 68th ranked pass offense against Clemson's 9th ranked pass defense. Bama's rush offense is only ranked 29th! Clemson's rush defense is ranked 18th. I don't get all the hype on Derrick Henry. His yards per carry and Gallman's yards per carry are very similar!! If you give him the ball enough times he will end up with a lot of yards. That's not rocket science. He only got 75 against Michigan State. Clemson would have crushed Michigan State through the air.

Herbstreit's analysis was spot on. And he gave plenty of reasons - based on extensive film study - about why and how Clemson could win.
Stats don't win games - finding and exploiting your opponents weakeness(es) does. Herbstreit went through every single weakness. He even said our D could cause serious problems for Bama's offense, yet you're attempting to argue with him on that point.
I'm so confused right now.

Finding and exploiting your opponents weakeness(es) wins games. Exactly what I said about Bama beating MSU! Every one is talking big about Coker because he passed for all those yards against a crappy pass defense. Stats show the potential of a team. I have taken stats a step further, and over the years, have done a very good job of not only predicting who will win, but many times coming very close to predicting the score. Stats do mean a lot. Not that you saw it anywhere but my prediction for the OK game was 39-21 Clemson.
And basically what Herbstreit said was nothing that everyone doesn't already know - if Deshaun has a good game then Clemson has a good chance to win. Any team that controls the line of scrimmage should win any game. If he's so good then why did he bet against Clemson so many times on College Game Day this year when we played a good team? Film study doesn't do it all. Statistics will show you the weaknesses. Let me know when you want my score of the CU/Bama game. I think you'll be surprised!

Miss tate, UcheaT and Ole Mrs. They handled Miss Tate well, Ole Mrs beat them and UcheaT missed enough FGs to have won their game.
DW will eat their lunch then have a threesome with their moms and sisters.

Herbie is about the only ESPiN analyst that has a clue. He's usually very even-handed and fair. And he's been a Clemson supporter for several years now.

Funny how he has been very complimentary of us all year and he picks against us last week which makes several people in this thread automatically hate him...are you guys this sensitive in real life?

At the beginning of the season he had so much doubt about how tough Watson was and the defense was depleted. It wasn't until Clemson beat Notre Dame that he began to take notice and then only slightly. He still thought Clemsonn got lucky in that game along with all the other pundits. He even stood next to his son smiling when his son put Clemson on upset alert for one of the games (might have been NC State). When Clemson was undefeated just before the official CFP rankings came out he started to finally get onboard. What choice did he have.

I have learned too many times that their analysis and picks are dead wrong. They might as well throw darts at a board for their picks. These guys are here for our entertainment and to get eye balls on the screen. Tigers roll Monday night! Bring home a championship!

Herbie Has been our only ally among the homers! He calls it like it is, MOST of the time! He still can get caught up worshiping at the altar of the SEC. The SEC is a has been league. They are one team. They are schematically behind in college football. They keep running the pro set, sans a few SEC teams. The top defenses have migrated from the SED to the ACC. We are the tougher league now! Watch UVA (Mendanhall), Syracuse (Babers), VaTech (Fuente), and Miami (Richt) next year! They made perfect hires to build a competitive team! But, the ACC Championship runs through Clemson! I am enjoying every second of this run! I've been expecting it to happen since 1981! Go Tigers! Beat the brakes off of Bama! #ALLIN
