CLEMSON – The Clemson Tigers dismantled South Carolina State 73-7 Saturday afternoon in Death Valley – the second-largest margin of victory in Memorial Stadium history.
With such a dominating performance, there were several interesting statistical oddities that came out of the game. 73: Clemson scored 73 points in Saturday’s win – the most points since the 1981 game against Wake Forest, in which the Tigers scored 82. 66: The margin of victory was 66 points – the seventh largest margin of victory in school history, tying the 66-0 victory over Presbyterian College in 1957. 9 to 5: Clemson kicker

wasn’t called into action Saturday afternoon, except to kickoff. The last time Clemson did not record a punt was in the 2009 ACC Championship game against Georgia Tech. Oddly enough, neither team punted in that game.
