Former Clemson WR re-signs with former team

by - Staff Writer -

Martavis Bryant is back with the Oakland Raiders with a one-year contract, ESPN reports.

The former Clemson receiver had been released prior to the start of the season with reports out that he was facing another league suspension for substance abuse.

"I am just thankful and happy and excited for this weekend and the opportunity to take care of my family -- it will not be taken for granted," Bryant told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

As long as a season's suspension may still loom but Bryant is expected to play for Oakland at Denver this Sunday. The Raiders started 0-1 after a 33-13 home loss to the L.A. Rams on Monday.

He has 18 career touchdowns in 36 regular-season games with nearly 2,000 receiving yards (1,917) over three seasons.

Bryant has already been suspended for a full season since his 2014 fourth-round NFL draft selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers, who traded him to Oakland for a third-round pick this April.
