Ray-Ray McCloud will forego his senior season and enter the NFL draft.
McCloud released a statement through the school via social media Sunday. "My decision to come to Clemson was one of the best decision of my life," McCloud said. "The amount of success we've had had as a team has been unbelievable and something that I always cherish and never forget. After praying day and night and discussing my future with my family & Coach Swinney, I've decided to declare for the 2018 NFL draft." The Tampa native played receiver, cornerback and served as a punt returner over his junior season. McCloud ranks seventh nationally in punt return average (12.12) with one touchdown. He finished third on the team in catches (49) and yards (503) with one touchdown reception. McCloud also tallied three tackles. Over three seasons, the former five-star prospect totaled 127 catches for 1,226 yards with four touchdowns. "I'd like to thank my teammates for all the support and hard work they've put in to help this program be a championship contender year-in and year-out," McCloud's statement continued, "my coaches for pushing me each and everyday to be a better man first and foremost, and to develop into the player I am today. Last but not least - the Clemson Fans! You all have truly been a blessing in my life and to whom I feel I owe a great deal of gratitude for all the Love and support you've shown me from day one. I am truly thankful for all the memories we share and I will always bleed orange & purple. I salute you all and GO TIGERS!"
