Clemson receives word from NCAA on transfer guard waiver

by -

The NCAA denied a waiver for Fordham transfer guard Nick Honor to play this season for Clemson.

Honor, a sophomore, started all 32 games for Fordham last season and averaged a team-leading 15.3 points per game.

“Obviously we are disappointed in the decision from the NCAA to deny Nick the opportunity to play this season," a statement from Clemson coach Brad Brownell and AD Dan Radakovich said Wednesday. "He was an integral part of our team at the World University Games this past summer. I know our fans will enjoy watching him next season.”

The NCAA approved a waiver for sophomore wing Khavon Moore, who also transferred in this summer.

Clemson's 2019-20 season started with a 67-60 loss to Virginia Tech on Tuesday.
