College

Matthew Ryan's

26-yard scoring pass to Kevin Challenger with 1:18 left in the game as the

Eagles won their fourth-straight with a 35-30 win over Wake Forest Saturday … in

two drives, Ryan completed 7-of-9 passes for 134 yards and two scores … LB/FB

Brian Toal  has scored six touchdowns this season on 20 carries and is third on

the team with 36 tackles, including 5.5 TFLs … Will Blackmon leads all active

Division-IA players in career kickoff return yardage (2,458) … BC leads the ACC

and is ranked fifth nationally in rushing defense (77.7), their lowest rushing

yield since a 70.3 per game average in 1990.

Clemson

The Tigers are

one of only two Division I-A teams to not have lost a fumble this season … PK

Jad Dean has made 26 of 30 career field goal attempts ... James Davis ran for a

career-high 143 yards in Thursday’s 31-10 win at NC State and is one of two ACC

freshmen to lead his team in rushing (72.2) ... Davis has scored two touchdowns

in each of his past two games ...QB Charlie Whitehurst has seven career 300-yard

passing games and is eighth among ACC career passing leaders (8,532) and 10th in

both total offense (8,659) ... Whitehurst has completed 29-of-46 (63.0) of his

third down passes this season.

Duke

The Blue Devils

have intercepted seven passes in their last six games … junior CB John Talley

has 10 career interceptions - tops among active players in the ACC … Talley

ranks fourth all-time in the ACC with 245 career interception return yards … TB

Justin Boyle ran for 88 yards on 27 carries against Georgia Tech Saturday and

leads the team in rushing with 365 yards … the Blue Devils are fourth in the ACC

in passing yardage defense (182.5) … DT Clifford Respress made his first career

start against Georgia Tech, becoming the fifth true freshman to start for Duke

this season.

Florida

State

Drew

Weatherford completed 35-of-59 passes for 359 yards and a touchdown in

Saturday's 26-21 loss at Virginia …Weatherford leads the ACC in passing yardage

(267.0) and leads all freshmen nationally in passing yards (1,602), touchdown

passes (11) and total offense (1,576) … over his last five games Weatherford has

completed 62 percent of his passes and has averaged 307.0 yards passing per game

… senior TB Leon Washington is 10th on FSU's career rushing list with 1,883

yards … the Seminoles lead the ACC in total offense (435.7), their highest per

game average since a 549.0 mark in 2000.

Georgia Tech

Reserve RB

Tashard Choice rushed for a career-high 107 yards and two touchdowns as Tech

snapped a two-game losing streak with a 35-10 victory over Duke Saturday … the

Jackets lead the ACC and are second nationally with 14 passes intercepted …TB

P.J. Daniels is 29th among ACC career rushing leaders with 2,910 yards …  QB

Reggie Ball is fifth on Tech's all-time passing yardage list (5,203) and fourth

in total offense (6,078) … WR Calvin Johnson has six career 100-yard games,

leads the ACC in receiving yards per game (96.8) and is averaging 17.7 yards per

catch in his career.

Maryland

Maryland has

won three in a row and is averaging 210.7 yards rushing over that span … QB Sam

Hollenbach has thrown for 215-or-more yards in five of his six games and leads

the ACC in total offense (264.3), is third in passing efficiency (144.0) and is

averaging 7.5 yards per play - the top figure among ACC quarterbacks … TE Vernon

Davis has had 13 receptions of 20 yards or more and is averaging 20.4  yards per

catch ... sophomore Lance Ball leads the team in rushing with 346 yards and is

averaging 5.3 yards per carry ... LB D'Qwell Jackson is the nation’s leading

tackler, averaging 14.4 tackles per game.

Miami

QB Kyle Wright

threw four touchdown passes in the first 19 minutes as the Hurricanes extended

their win streak to five in a row with a 34-3 victory over Temple Saturday … WR

Sinorice Moss had three catches for 122 yards, including a 92-yard TD pass

against the Owls and is fourth in the ACC in receiving yards per game (63.2) and

second in yards per catch (21.1) … Miami is ranked sixth in both polls this week

and has been ranked in 96 consecutive AP polls … in the last three games Miami

has allowed opponents to complete only 35 percent of their passes (25-of-71) for

57.7 yards per outing.

North Carolina

Four of the Tar

Heels' next five games are in Kenan Stadium … UNC's schedule is ranked as the

nation's  sixth toughest by the Sagarin Computer and their next four games are

against opponents who are a combined 19-6 … senior QB Matt Baker has passed for

220 or more yards in four of his first five starts and is third in the ACC in

passing yards per game (245.8) and first in yards per completion (15.0) …

freshman Brandon Tate is third in the ACC and sixth nationally in kickoff

returns (32.2) … the Tar Heels are second in the ACC and tied for 14th

nationally in QB sacks (3.2) …WR Jarwarski Pollock is second among UNC career

reception leaders (160).

NC State

Three of the

Wolfpack’s next four games are on the road ...WR Brian Clark  is averaging 22.5

yards per catch (10-for-225) ... Toney Baker is one of two ACC freshmen to lead

his team in rushing (51.6) and has scored five of NC State’s 14  touchdowns this

season ... QB Jay Davis has completed 61 percent of his passes for 1,165 yards

and six TDs and is ninth on the school’s career passing list with 3,446 yards

... Darrell Blackman leads the nation in kickoff returns (41.6), is 23rd in

all-purpose yardage (141.4) and has 10 plays of 20 or more yards, including five

plays of 50+ yards.

Virginia

Marques Hagans

completed 27-of-36 passes for a career-high 306 yards and two touchdowns in

Saturday's 26-21 victory over fourth-ranked Florida State 26-21 … TE Jonathan

Stupar caught five passes against FSU for 66 yards and a score … over his last

seven games Hagans is averaging 253.7 yards per game in total offense and has

accounted for 15 touchdowns … Hagans has a career completion percentage of 62.4

and is ranked 12th among ACC career passing efficiency leaders (136.93) … PK

Connor Hughes has made 58 of 70 career field goal attempts (82.9) and is 14th on

the ACC career scoring list with 291 points.

Virginia Tech

The Hokies have

won 14 straight regular season games and are ranked third in both the AP and

coaches polls ... Marcus Vick has completed 68 percent of his passes for 1,043

yards and 10 touchdowns ... Tech has turned the ball over only twice this season

and is second nationally in turnover margin (+2.00) … Brandon Pace has made 32

of 39 career field goal attempts (82.1) ... Tech is 6-0 in league road games

since joining the league in 2004 ... the Hokies have out-scored their opponents

Saturday's

35-30 loss at Boston College marked the 29th time over the last five years that
