Elite 2018 defensive end
Justin Mascoll from Snellville, Georgia (South Gwinnett HS) has committed to Clemson over Georgia and Florida State on Friday evening. TigerNet spoke with Mascoll moments after he committed to the defending National Champions.
"It's my dream school," Mascoll said. "There is a feeling of trust with the coaches. I called Coach Venables and he was fired up." Mascoll posted on Twitter thank you to all the people that helped him on his recruitment journey. "I just want to thank God and my family for being there for me through this long decision and I just want to thank all of my coaches that have pushed me to be great on and off the field and I just want to thank all the coaches that have recruited me through this whole process but my recruitment process has ended and I'm 100% #ALLIN!" Mascoll had national offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, North Carolina, North Carolina State and South Carolina. Clemson was the first school to offer. Clemson co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott was the recruiter of record and helped tremendously in landing this high-profile recruit. This is another top prospect that leaves the state of Georgia for Clemson. Previously, Mascoll had a top four of Auburn, Clemson, Florida State and Georgia but had a great visit to Clemson on March 4. In 2016, he had 68 tackles and eight sacks. He was named a sophomore All-America by CBS MaxPreps in 2015 after finishing the season with 62 tackles and eight sacks. I am blessed ?? and honored to say i am officially committed to the University of clemson ??????? #ALLIN pic.twitter.com/ETfGIsLP0g GREAT DAY TO BE A TIGER!!! #ALLIN #WE2DEEP18
