Goahead and Bash away but this is a prime example of crappy coaching. Our players act like they could care less to be playing today and I put that on the coach. The one beef I had about Bowden was his comment stating "It is not my job to get our players pumped up to play". What? Isn't that part of being a coach in having your players ready to play every game and motivate them?
Perhaps the context of TB's comment was TEAM LEADERS who should motivate teammates to get the job done. Then again, it is easier to bash the coaching all the time.

Maryland...no way we should have lost that one. NC State...never should have been in a position to win that game on the last play of the game.
It cost us a shot at the ACCC, IMO.
Last, but not least, KY...need I go on?

You said: ''getting the team ready for small games.''
Maryland, NC state are confernce big games. I dont disagree we shouldn't have won the Maryland game. But... small game is furman, duke, LaLaffy, Woffy, and uSC.

And, by the way, USC is not a small game. You may like to think so, but they are a legitimate team.

3 in a row against FSU, MIAMI IN THE ORANGE BOWL to end a home record 38 wins in a row . . .
A TON against USuCk, GayTech on National TV . . . for crying out loud - Herbstreit said we come out SMOKIN' for big games and need to suck it up for the little ones.
So which one is it, Mr. I-will-only-be-satisfied-at-13-0-and-that-is-what-owed-to-me ? ? ?

Your comments are ridiculous. Maryland was no "small game"

OBVIOUSLY neither was USuCk, but you didn't include that in the list, somebody else did.
wolfpuppies - you're complaining about a win (you also going to complain about us being down 7-0 to ULM ?)
Kentucky - -possibly a valid point that ALL coaches contend with . . . a team that feels it got slighted, or going against an inferior opponent, etc, etc. TONS of examples of great coaches coming up short in similar instances.

especially at home.
As far as NC State goes, had their receiver's foot come down 6 inches to the left on one of the last few plays of the game, I would be complaining about a loss, not a win, against a HORRIBLE team.
Why do I even bother, you have an excuse for everything.

So, after the win today...no football practice this week...everyone just show up next Saturday.

years old" . . .
Oh well . . . .
You started this with CTB has had problems getting the team ready for small games . . . and then it changed to big games . . . and now it is all wins have to have significant style points.
NO DOUBT Maryland was crushing, as was BC (either one woulda put us in the ACCCG), as was SC. 7-1 and then end up losing in the Music City Bowl is terribly bitter . . . but it is a team sport.
