Former Clemson 5-star signee Imari Berry headed to Louisville |
A blue chip prospect is no longer a Tiger.
Five-star 2024 guard Imari Berry announced recently that she will play for Louisville over Kentucky and North Carolina. Berry is a former Clemson signee who requested to be released from her National Letter of Intent after head coach Amanda Butler was fired in March. "I owe this message to Tiger Nation," Berry said on social media. "While I genuinely loved my experiences on campus, those experiences and the culture created within the program were a direct reflection of the coaching staff. "I was able to establish strong relationships with those coaches and I have a great deal of respect for them. Because I am a relationship person, I knew immediately that it was within my best interest to reopen my recruitment." The McDonald's All-American and Tennessee Girls Player of the Year averaged 23.8 points, 6.1 points, 4.1 steals, and 2.8 assists per game last season. According to ESPN, she was ranked as the No. 7 guard and No. 16 overall prospect for 2024.
