1983 and a young Dickie V doing color comentary before he started the theatrical act years later.
Called Murray Jarman a jumping maniac with his 44 inch vertical leap.
And UNC had a player named Brownlee. Ha, precurser to Coach Brown...nell
Interesting point, this was three years later after Clemson made it's 1st Elite 8 apperance.
Think the program is night and day from then, and will so much more able to handle that success after this past season. Link:

I’m in the student section wearing one of those give away orange shirts. Just to put this matchup in perspective Michael Jordan is guarding Mike Eppley. And we still played them off their feet. This is one of the many ACC basketball games that gave us the all-too-real narrative of Tobacco Road officiating.

Here is video of the next season's game in 1984. That was actually a decent Clemson team even if in last place because the ACC was loaded that year. Clemson started out 7-0 including wins over a route of Baylor and win at Vanderbilt, and then 11-2 before a lot injuries occured. Vincent Hamilton came back in Feburary after a broken wrist to make the team competive again. Guys like Vince, Jarman, Jones, Michaels, Jenkins and a young Horace Grant off the bench at the end of season were tough including getting a rare win at Duke
Bill Foster was starting to get frustrated with all the injuries and close loses,and took the Miami job after the season to restart their program.

Here was the video UNC game later that season in the 1st round of the ACCT.
Murray Jarman went off for a career high 28 pts including 14 field goals inside against future NBA All-Stars Sam Perkins and Brad Daughtery. He scored in a number of ways: Hook shots, ally-ope dunks, reverse dunks and turnaround jump shots.
Billy Packer on commentary was saying should have tried out for football. Would have been a great tight end or receiver with his 44 inch vertical leap.

They were skinny and very undeveloped. Back then I think it was when the freshmen team could not play with varsity? It was obvious that Horace was the superior player and Harold moved on to Oklahoma.

I remember Jarman going up for a rebound and hitting his head on the rafters. It was raining and the game had to be stopped due to the damage to the roof. Well, not really but my goodness that guy could jump!

I believe that was the game where I hung around after the game. Went to the restroom before I left and took a #### between Bob Lee and #### Vitale.
