Daylight Savings Time, or Standard Time, which do you prefer?

I saw a bunch of people on FB last night who were so happy that DST was over, and I don't get it. I'd much rather have the sunlight in the evening than early in the morn.

It’s dark when I leave for work and dark when I leave for home, “DST” is the worst and is an antiquated relic that needs to be thrown into history’s refuse pile. Vote for me, no more DST that’s a day 1 guarantee

if you work a normal job in the winter that 1 hour swing doesn't matter much

sun's only out for 9 or so hours that time of year. So you're doing at least 1 of them (either go to work or come home) in the dark no matter what.

EDT is life and should always be.
I'd even propose to move it an extra hour the OTHER way during this time. I'd happily have it get dark at 7pm right now instead of 5pm.

Can I confess that I didn't realize there was a difference between EST and EDT (or, for me CST/CDT) until a few months ago when someone corrected me?
But yeah, whatever we just left should be permanent. I get depressed watching the sun set from my office at 4:30.

Make a 30 minute DST permanent and leave it alone.
Dark at 6 in the winter, 8:30 in the summer.
