Will Shipley is 5'11", 209!! Size is not always the measure of success in the NFL!! As Clemson fans, we all know that WS will work his tail off to be the best he can be!! Best Wishes to a Clemson "great"!!

and back in the late 90's everybody was saying Keith Van Horn was the next Larry Bird. White players can only be compared to white players, I guess.

Don’t agree. Everyone knew that Keith Van Horn was Mark Eaton with an outside shot.

No, I promise what’s worse is the recruiting sites when Shipley was coming out of high school trying their best to not compare with McCaffrey by comparing him to Joe Mixon.

https://247sports.com/player/will-shipley-46056925/high-school-219761/

When you look at their measurables, they are the same player, and they both play a similar style and role for a team. I would love to see Shipley have a similar career, but I don’t see it. He really did seem to trip himself up and get tackled in the open field too much in college (big difference between him and McCaffrey), but we’ll see. Shipley on the Eagles will be a lot of fun, and I think he could thrive with misdirection and Hurts taking some of the focus in the run game.

Go Tigers!

Comparisons of Ship vs. McCaffrey

Correct! Virtually identical physically. The main difference is running style. Mc has a knack for avoiding tacklers in the open field. Ship seeks them out!

Keith Ban Horn was OK, but Keith Ban Horne may be in the NFL Hall of Fame one day. Everyone from the 85 Bears maybe some day.

Yesterday I said my 40 time was 4 3 but that wasn’t with a period like 4.3, but 43 and I’m not sure I can run it that fast for sure

That’s not completely true. Shipley is fast and he runs hard. He’s no McCaffrey, but he’s not terrible, either.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Such comparisons are sure to bring the haters out if the woodwork.

I agree with the haters that Shipley has a lot to prove before he can be considered on McCaffery's level. No question. Having said that, Shipley is a very talented athlete, with an almost identical physical build and very similar skillset to McCafferty. Therefore it's not unreasonable at all to hope that Shipley could have a similar career. By no means am I making any predictions whatsoever; I just don't understand the disdain so many Clemson fans have for one of our own, one who played with tremendous effort right from the start.

So if he puts on one pound in the weight room or at the training table, he'll be as good as McCaffrey? Somebody take that man a pound of chicken.

All he really needs do is stop fumbling. Turnover is the kiss of death in the NFL.
