ACC tennis story from the old days

I believe was a senior when the ACC had the tennis championship was held at Clemson. I watch several matches. John Lucas the UMd All American guard won it about a month after the hoops season was over with. Phenomenal athlete. I heard rumors he would sometime hit with Arthur Ashe but not sure if that was true. He did use the type high tech (back then) racquet AA used. There is some info on his tennis in his wikipedia profile though most of his bio is about the NBA
