You liberal tree hugging lg supporters and anti American

peps can blast me all you want but I am sticking to my Christian moral beliefs. We give you guys an inch but you end up taking miles and miles. You stopped Dabo from accepting an award, now you want the confederate flag banned. What's next the American flag, the National Anthem or maybe the Tiger Paw logo because it may be offensive to animal rights activates. I mean really where will it stop! Now Walmart has stopped selling the confederate flag so what is next on your agenda! By the way those who have a confederate flag tattooed on your arm should have your arm amputated so you want offend somebody.
We use to have people with grit and backbone who would stand up for their beliefs, but now most people when confronted with an issue fold like a cheap seat. This is still America the land of the free and the home of the brave? Or is it???
I am so sick of this politically correct world we now live in. I may not make a difference. If I go down , I will go down fighting. We have sat back far to long allowing morally bankrupt, corrupt people take control of our government, schools, churches, groups like the Boy Scouts and even youth sports. Now it is time to take a stand and fight for our beliefs and morals. And I am sick of these liberal groups telling me how to think, how to live a politically correct lifestyle and especially trying to tell me what is right and what is wrong.
People better wake up and start fighting for their rights. It is unbelievable as to how many personal freedoms we have lost in the name of national security or what is now politically correct! This has occurred in just the last 10 to 15 years.

Preach on Brothers !! Liberals are clearly destroying this country but they are too "intelligent" to realize it. When they do, it will be too late.

To suggest that only liberals are not racist, sexist, homophobic, and xenophobic only means you watch waaay too much MSNBC and have no way of really thinking for yourself.

You're not on the side of facts if you're going to try to correlate lack of education & liberalism. The most educated areas of the country (Boston, San Francisco, Washington DC, New York) are historically also some of the most liberal.

Falsely accusing the other side of racism and the like to demonize opponents is an effective strategy when one lead groups of unlearned to the slaughter. Carry on.

You're a racist, sexism, (think you meant sexist) and homophobic?
Thanks for that ignorant statement.
We're all dumber for it.
Or as you liberals would say, we are now enlightened by your doctrine
For the record, I don't like either party - do hate the arrogance and "my opinion is always right and I believe in free speech as long as it applies to my beliefs" of the liberals.
All in all GREAT post though! Seriously

But I believe in seperation of church and state and I believe no person should have civil liberties held from them nor any law made based on the foundations of religion. We must keep the church out of government or we become what England was when we fought so hard to gain religious freedom.

We have lost personal freedoms in the name of national security. But you are still free to fly the confederate flag while others are free to burn it. You are still free to worship when, where and how you want, even to pray when and where you want. Just don't expect everybody to worship and pray the way you do. Freedom is the one thing we should always fight for. America is far from perfect, but it is still the best thing going.
Be safe and have a great holiday weekend.

You might want to crack open a history book. Hitler exterminated homosexuals. That is quite the opposite from allowing them to marry whom they like.
The only "personal freedom" I see being taken away is the right some feel they have to condemn, ridicule and marginalize other americans whom they disagree with. You want to fly the confederate flag?...Govt can't stop you. You want to pray in school? Government can't stop you. You want to walk up and down the street condemn homosexuals...gov't can't stop you.
The idea that "Real American's" fight for the freedom to condemn and offend they're fellow citizens is....actually, more Hitleresque than what you propose.
Live and Let live. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Christianity is a great idea....I'd just love to see someone actually try it.

IMO, today's polical system is more of a corrupt business than anything else. Both sides are equally culpable as "our" public servants only interests are furthering their personal stature. Ultimately, they couldn't give a rat's a$$ about anyone but themselves.

"personal freedoms" when you really mean "imposing my beliefs upon others". Getting married to whomever one chooses, for example, is a "personal freedom". Telling a person he cannot get married because it goes against YOUR beliefs is imposing your way of thinking upon him and taking AWAY his personal freedom. I guess that makes me a "tree hugging lg supporter". Hmmm. That is ok with me as long as I am not a narrow minded person who believes that Jesus Christ would actually condone excluding people based on something as insignificant as sexual preference. How would Jesus feel about bigots?

United States Constitution, as it exists, protects the rights of everyone, even gay people. In earlier news, they also had to decide that black people cannot be owned by white people. Perhaps you missed that one. Seems like those black people should have been able to rely on a God-given right if they had one, doesn't it? Wonder why the Supreme Court had to step in. Oh yeah, it was because of people like you.

The things I saw that day would make me uncomfortable to watch if it were straight people doing it.
I am all for personal freedoms and what you do is your business, and I have no objection to the SCOTUS ruling, but do not ever say no one is making you go to a pride parade, because I was made to. I guess I could have strongly objected and pissed off my gay boss, but I wanted to have a steady pay check coming in.

For the exact same reason we needed the Supreme Court to:
Give women the vote
End segregation
End Jim Crow law
Give blacks the vote.
Give you the right to voice what ever hate-mongering, backwards condemation of others you so please without restriction by the government. Frankly, the Supreme Court has interceded dozens of times to protect American Freedom from guys like you.
Do right wing, psuedo-christians like yourself even think before you militarize and bastardize Christ's teachings in order to fit your extraordinarily self absorbed, backward narcistic view of the world? Ultimately, your problem is with how others behave. Which like my grandma said, "Aint none of your #### business."
Amen

you don't want someone living the same country as you, simply because they have different beliefs than you. So what you're really saying is freedom is only allowed to people who agree with you, and people who don't agree with you should be denied freedom. So what you are really for is an apartheid system of government. Thanks for exposing your true beliefs.

To be fair, now that it's legal wueagle's boyfriend probably expects him to divorce his wife.
So much pressure on poor wueagle, can't keep his boyfriend in the closet no more.

You know what I believe is that Jesus Christ is my savior

and I try to live my life based on his teachings, his character and commandments. What I don't like are those who live in this country for the purpose of its destruction morally, economically or physically. I don't see black or white, Chinese or Russian. I look for a person with character that wants what's good for the country. But to many people have a me first attitude.
And I believe history repeats itself and we should learn from it. For example Sodom and Gomorrah, Germany and other countries that have received God's Judgement because they were morally bankrupt. I believe that Judgement on the U.S. Is near at hand.
I care about you regardless of what you think of me because I know what God has done for me and I want you to have the same blessings for you and everyone else.
And yes I think things like the confederate flag are trivial issues compared to many other issues we face. Yet 7 or 8 out of every 10 people will offer up an opinion about the confederate flag but only 1 or 2 of those 10 will stand up for their moral or Christian beliefs.
At no time have I mentioned the word hate or encouraged people to hate others. I have encouraged people to fight against things I feel are wrong and have a negative affect on society.
Most important if I am wrong about my beliefs and opinions I will be the one to answer to God just as you and everyone else will face judgement one day.

Jesus Himself said marriage is between a man and a woman. In several places The Bible -GOD's word says homosexuality is an abomination to Him.. Just sayin' if you gonna say what Jesus would do you better get your facts straight. BTW He also says love the sinner, hate the sin.

This is a Democratic Republic. We do not make into law what God said. Freedom of religion also means freedom "from" religion. Get over it, or take it up with Thomas Jefferson.

If Jesus says marriage is between a man and a woman, but Mr. Ed says a horse can get in the mix, I have every right to go with what Mr. Ed says and marry a thoroughbred. If I belong to the Horses of Another Color Church, which condones my marriage, I am all good (and still a patriotic American). And I still happen to personally believe that Jesus would not kick me out of his prayer meeting.

As a Christian, you don't have to believe gay marriage is ok.
However, as an American, you should be for allowing gay marriage.

No one makes laws not allowing you to worship God. No one makes laws not allowing you to go to church. You have that right and others have the right to not have their freedoms infringed on because they don't believe those things.

I believe any consenting adults should be allowed to marry. Doesn't impact my life if the gays down the street marry. That's my point. Those who are against things of that kind due to religion are in the wrong because they want the state run by religion. They don't understand that government is not run by the church. Freedom of religion means the right not to follow a religion just as much as it is a right to follow a religion.

You freedom hating, anti American far right wingers...
Jul 3, 2015, 1:39 PM
|

Blast me all you want, but I'm tired of you far right wingers following that atheist Ayn Rand (who worshiped material things) while claiming to be "Christian". I'm tired of you trying to bring back legalized discrimination. I'm tired of you far right wingers claiming to be "Christian", then hating immigrants when in the Bible it says to be "kind to strangers, because we were once strangers in the land of Eygpt." I'm tired of you far right wingers wanting to use the government to enforce your personal beliefs upon everybody else. I'm tired of you far right wing "Christians", being silent when black Christian churches are burned, shot up, and threatened with violence. I'm tired of you far right wingers romanticizing about a period of time in our country when slavery was legal. I'm tired of you far right wingers supporting trade policies that send American jobs overseas. I'm tired of you right wing "Christians", hating on your fellow hispanic Christians. I'm tired of you far right wingers being so obsessed and intrusive into people's personal lives and beliefs.
Sorry far right, your time is up. People are free to who they want to be. Equality is coming, you can kick and scream all you want, but it's over for you far right wingers. A majority of the country wants to move past racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia. It is unbelievable how many personal freedoms the far right has been trying to take away from free American citizens over the past 10 to 15 years, all in the name of far right political correctness.

in all fairness, NAFTA came up under BUSH and was a conservative trade policy, Clinton signed it as a compromise to get republican votes to push his economic stimulus package through the house, which ultimately led to investments in the dotcom boom. He has since changed his stance and regrets signing that into law.

You ostriches keep your heads in the sand, everything will be fine. We supposedly have an $18 trillion debt where only the interest is being paid but magically this 18 trillion # has'nt changed in the last 4 yrs even though the budget has never been balanced or come anywhere near the black. There are more people on welfare and disability than at any other time in our nations history. I thought, stupid me, that welfare programs were supposed to help you get back on your feet rather than keep you on your knees. The govt blatantly lies and the media covers for it , pick a side. If you believe that 5.3% unemployment rate bs i have a great deal on some ocean front property in Ohio for you. 37% of the workforce is employed by the feds. You can be spied upon and depending on the interpreter detained without access to Habeas Corpus relief. Shall I go on, nah never mind, no one is listening. Happy fouth of July everyone.

I guess my first question would be: What the heck does the Confederate flag have to do with being a Christian? Dabo decided on his own not to accept the award. Nobody "made" him do anything. But, I guess if our form of government has become so distasteful to you maybe it's time for you to find another place to live. This is not a nation of Islam. We do not allow religious belief to form the laws. That is the way it has always been. That is the way it will always be.

Wake up idiot! God as you believe doesn't exist. Nobody snapped their fingers and created the universe.
The same God you believe wouldn't say wearing mixed fabric is the same as laying with a man... Leviticis 18:18..
How does the flag or gay marriage affect your life? Are you leaving the US? Are you divorcing your wife? The US is the last industrialized nation to recognize gay marriage- is the rest of the world doomed as well? Open your eyes, the world has advanced beyond your archaic belief system.
Ignorant people are the worst. I know many gay people, and they only want the same rights straight people have. Not their fault they're gay.

As soon as the award was made political, Dabo bailed. He's surely aware that The Bible record no incident of either Christ, His Apostles or the first church getting involved in politics.

the Rapture just occurred...
and God took certain people's brains but left the rest of them for us to have to deal with.
Jesus was "not political"? Really?
I'd say the Pharisees and the Romans both insisted and acted as if he was "political" enough. In the end, he paid for that "inferred political bent" with his life.

where government was religion and religion was government, much like Saudi Arabia and Iraq and most of the Middle East today. If we let our guards down and fail to maintain a separation of church and state, we could end up just like the Roman Empire. Christians need to quit spending so much time worrying about what all the "heathens" are doing and start working more on their personal relationship with their God. And by the way, morality and spirituality are not exclusive to Christians.

the biggest lie of liberals...

secularism is as moral as religion.
B..effin...S.
The Romans were secularists, not spirtuaiists, and they crucified a religious leader because He had shown the power to overcome their enforced authority of the people.
Quit reading Wired and start reading the Bible - then you might have more than misconception to talk about.

I think secularists are definitely as morally upstanding as religious people...maybe even moreso.
Aren't the most violent areas of the country located in the most religious places?

Re: Could be wrong, but I don't think cities like Detroit and DC

True...however they're not the only crime-ridden places. Here's how the most religious states fare in terms of crime rankings:
Most religious: http://www.gallup.com/poll/160415/mississippi-maintains-hold-religious-state.aspx Most violent: https://www.census.gov/statab/ranks/rank21.html
Religious State Crime 1. Mississippi (31) 2. Utah (45) 3. Alabama (23) 4. Louisiana (5) 5. Arkansas (11) 6. South Carolina (1) 7. Tennessee (2) 8. North Carolina (18) 9. Georgia (19) 10. Oklahoma (17)
Compared to the least religious:
50. Vermont (48) 49. New Hampshire (47) 48. Maine (50) 47. Massachusetts (20) 46. Rhode Island (44) 45. Oregon (38) 44. Nevada (3) 43. Hawaii (36) 42. Alaska (6) 41. Connecticut (37) 40. Washington (28)
It's not a 100% correlation, but in general, the more religious states tend to be more violent than non-religious.

WHOA the hail up....
Jul 5, 2015, 2:27 PM

this fool has posted a link to the "most religious states" in the country, and that link has
NOTHING TO DO WITH "CRIME" AT ALL.
In fact, of the Top 30 cities for Murder rate, only 4 are in the South, and two of those - New Orleans and Atlanta - are far from being typical conservative Southern communities.
It's also interesting to note that NONE of the Top 30 cities for Murder rate are from the Great Plains states, an area of the nation that went generally solidly for Romney in 2012 as well.
Of the areas most represented in the TOP 30 Murder Rate cities the Iron Belt and the Northeast stand out - areas that went solidly Democrat in the last 5+ Presidential elections.
The Poster who is saying that "religion = violent states" hails from Brazil, and apparently knows nothing about the true facts about violence in the US.
In fact the poster is representative of exactly what "wueagle" was screaming about - too much liberal misinformation continues to haunt our country....

Those cities are also much more populated
Jul 5, 2015, 4:27 PM

Pretty sure there are going to be a lot more murders in Chicago than Lincoln, Nebraska or in New York than Birmingham, Alabama. That's not religion based. That's just mass population differences. Sure, a Christian is prob less likely to commit murder, but what does that have to do with anything? Most non Christians are also not commiting murder. This has to do with Christians trying to run the government based on religion and it isn't ever gonna happen. Sorry. Church and State shall remain seperated and honestly, the extremism by Christians to punish those who do not follow the rules of their faith are driving more and more people away from Christianity.

we are talking per capita, and The fine state of SC Carolina, per Capita, is the most violent in the country. Spartanburg County, per capita, is more violent than Cook County Ill, were chicago is. I would love to believe otherwise, but you can not argue against facts.

No, The Roman Empire was run by Romans.

They appeased most religions by allowing a type of freedom of religion but none of the Roman leaders were anything close to worshiper of the Jewish God. They allowed for honor to all gods, worshiping none. They turned on the Jews and Christian, whom they also considered Jews, a couple hundred years after the Crucifixion of Christ.
Message was edited by: CT88 A couple of typos changed the meaning of this post. I horribly misstated the relationship between the established Jewish Church and the Romans due to failure to proofread.

The Pharisees hated Him because He was against their turning the Synagogue into a personal business. They sold animals in front to be offered for sacrifice. Some Bible scholars believe that they took the animals back to the front and sold them again. They rejected the Christ as The Son of God and that isn't politics by any stretch.
John 2 14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
John Chapter 2 : 1 15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; 16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
The Romans position was that no fault was found in Christ.
John 19 4. Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
The Pharisees tried to entangle Him in politics.
Matthew 22 15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. 16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. 17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? 18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? 19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. 20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? 21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
Oh yeah, there was that one time when the Pharisees used their political clout to have the Romans crucify a faultless man. Do you have anything to contribute that contradicts this?

"moral Christian beliefs," to then go on and rant about nothing that is supported by moral Christian beliefs. The confederate flag? US flag and Tiger Paw logo? What people are selling and what they aren't? All things they didn't teach in my church growing up. But, then again, I guess that love Jesus talked about was meant just for you.
Just curious, what battle are you fighting? As far as I am concerned, you can live your life as angry and close minded as you would like. Sounds like you are pretty happy that way from the tone of your post.

I sat and read every single comment. Thanks everyone. Wueagle86 if only you really knew Jesus. smh. There were some great posts replying to you. You should really consider some of them. At least bits and pieces. Yes the ones that disagree with you. You have some classic lines that can be picked apart and have been. You use the Word but your actions and feelings contradict Jesus' actions and words. Great job everyone. You do not know Him sad to say.

Spiritual Children and backsliders are often mistaken for nonbelievers. Neither will be edified by such an accusation. Though we 'know a tree by the fruit it bears,' it's not as obvious when a tree bears no fruit. Of course you we know each other by our love for one another. I think all this is above my paygrade and you should be hearing this from your pulpit.
I urge caution.

Seperation of Church and State.
Jul 4, 2015, 11:21 PM
|
|
It doesn't matter what you believe is right or wrong due to Christianity or any religion. You have the freedom to worship that religion and others have the freedom not to. Laws shall be made for the good and civil well being of the state and it's citizens, not because of beliefs of the church. Period. End of story. You can believe whatever faith you wish, but you may not punish others or dictate what they do because it differs from your religion. Period.

My neighbor's HAMMER AND SICKLE flag
Jul 5, 2015, 10:07 AM

While I think my neighbor is stupid with his HAMMER AND SICKLE flag being flown, I support his right to display that flag ... on his own property. Fortunately it's down the block a bit.
Me? I hug trees, fly our Star Spangled Banner, regularly swell with USMC pride, love black folks, love clinging to my guns and Christianity, honor my family (including ancestors) and am 100% certain that our great nation will get far more benefit by looking forward than we will get by looking backward.
