It fell far short of changes I would have liked, but it was a measurable improvement over what we have now and was the best we could hope for from the dems at that moment.
If we/GOP keep running clowns like Trump and the likes of MTG things will get worse and not better as the dems gain more control.

Currently crossing the border without prior approval is illegal.
Crossing into America claiming "asylum" is only for Russians, Cubans, Canadiens, and Mexicans. Crossing half the world to claim asylum here is illegal.
Crossing the border NOT at a port of entry, is illegal.
Overstaying your visa, is illegal.
If these laws were enforced; it would be a different world at the border. So, what will adding a host of new laws to the books that will also not be enforced? Absolutely nothing, but give the President even more power to ignore the laws already in place.

You should know about stones in your business. Just a troll without answering the question about existing laws. More of your song and dance.
So if the current status quo is to not follow existing immigration laws, what makes you think a new immigration law wouldn't just continue the status quo for not following the new law?

Step up and answer my question and quit worrying about gifs.
I'll post it again to save you a some time.
So if the current status quo is to not follow existing immigration laws, what makes you think a new immigration law wouldn't just continue the status quo for not following the new law?

We are currently following immigration laws the best we can with the resources given. The Bipartisan border bill is a huge improvement over what we currently have.
Now that I answered your question, why is "status quo" preferrable to the border bill? This is where you tap out because you can't give a rational answer to that. LOL

Even after you were told all the Dems wanted was the WAR money, you cried and are still crying like a baby that the new Border Bill including funding for Ukraine, Israel and East including Taiwan got shot down. You got duped again by this Administration.
Now even a blind fool like you can see the WAR funding is all the Dems wanted. Since the WAR money has been approved, where's the new Border Bill? I haven't seen or heard a peep out of the Dems wanting to get it passed.
I know it's too far of a stretch for the gullible to understand that the current Immigration Laws should be enforced.
Just like the rest of the Far Left in Washington, you have no credibility left.

It is illegal to cross at port of entry. But our current laws state that those who cross illegally are entitled to due process. SORRY baw. Now do you have an explanation as to why "status quo" is better than the border bill. Of course you don't. #checkmate AGAIN. 😆

If the current administration isn't already doing everything in its power to control the border, and normal people can clearly see that it is not, then why bother passing a bunch of new legislation that the current administration will also ignore or only selectively enforce? If one side is politicizing the issue it's the left which has suddenly in election season decided to pretend to care about something that's been an ongoing disaster for the last few years.

The things they scream about the most are usually issues they don't want to "solve" by legislation.
The Border is their latest faux screaming issue. Previously, it was debt/deficits. Law-n-Order is another one. Repeal Obamacare is another one.
Whenever they go postal on an issue, you can be sure they're trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

I’m curious how people reconcile Trump backing a 15 week ban for political reasons. Is abortion not murder before 15 weeks?

Well, they've got to get enough votes in Congress to make it a federal law
Apr 19, 2024, 12:26 PM

that killing babies is ok. And there is the belief that they can do that. (Haley tried to sidestep the abortion issue by saying - it doesn't matter what I (as President) think, I wouldn't have the votes in Congress to make a federal law against abortion.)
Also - having the abortion vote on the state's ballots (where is should be) is going to bring out the single-issue voters (to vote for abortion) and they're going to vote DEM while they're there.

They shouldn't have. It was negotiated by Dems and Pubs and they came up with

"something".
What they should have done:
Signed the Bill while holding their noses (because the Bill does stink) and loudly pointed out that Biden ignored the crisis until the election was drawing near.
Now - every Dem that is asked about the border can say - we had a Bill that THEY helped negotiate, but then THEY wouldn't sign it because of Trump. (Of course, I guess if the Bill had been signed, they'd be answering - "Yes, it was a problem because of Trump - but we've fixed it. You're welcome.")

If the border was out of control because of the previous administration (which I was told for over two years) why didn’t the senate and president stop the lawlessness from their inauguration?
Plenty of executive orders coulda been made in Joe’s first term to curb the problems down south.
By the way, why should any pub or dem have to do anything about the border of it isn’t a problem?
So are you saying it is a problem?
