This win against UNC would be so much sweeter if people cared about the sport the way they care about football..

You know that's not going to happen but if we could make a couple consecutive Big Dance appearances and win a game or two each time, they would definitely gain fan support and recruit better.

There is no way that Clemson fans will ever feel the same way about basketball as football.

college basketball is my favorite sport between January 21st - February 5th at which after I transition over to college baseball and spring football. I do usually tune back in during NIT tournament time to cheer on my Tigers!

Refs are too dominant in the outcome of the game.

More than other sports. Fouls are so insanely subjective. More than even pass interference. Such wild differences between crews sometimes. Fouls seem arbitrary half the time.
Refs can screw up any sport, but in basketball they have so much more influence.

Football and soccer can have bigger individual calls like a penalty/missed penalty or a penalty kick/red card but basketball refs control the flow of the sport itself the most.

I love college basketball. I don’t like watching bad college basketball. We play poorly enough to put a damper on watching. Bet your last dollar Clemson fans love our teams. Softball? Baseball with Eric? Gymnastics? Golf? Football. Bball has been so inconsistent through the years. At least OP was fun to watch as was Rick.

I don't dislike basketball; however, my problem is that

I'm not athletically inclined, and that's why I tend to limit my interest to football.
I will follow our other sports, watching games, matches, whatever occasionally, but other interests involving work and leisure generally rule the day. I like to work outdoors, and having lived on Lake Murray for years, I like boating, swimming, etc. Thus, sports have never ruled the day.
As for Clemson basketball, greater interest appears on every campus with winning, but I doubt we'll ever see the same level as we do with football.

Ppl do care… it was a great win but I think maybe ppl want to see if it continues or if we fall flat on our ### the next 2-3 games like we typically do. I also think that the fans are just growing tired of the same old same old from BB coached teams. I was a student during the OP days and LJC was an unreal atmosphere every single home game. It can be like that again with some excitement which starts with a little more consistency. I suspect if this team doesn’t make the tourney (I think we play decent we are def in) and we go a diff route no you will see a renewed excitement. With that being said basketball will never be football here nor does anyone want it to be … football is king at Clemson and 99% of ppl know that and want that to stay just the way it is.

Now FM, have you been to a Clemson football game, sunny fall day in the hills

tailgate, beverages, leaves changing color, the smells, the beauty that is Death Valley.
Clemson football will always be top dog for all those reasons above PLUS we have the best coach in college football who was given prominence and national regard to Clemson University!
Go Tigers basketball, just as important but nowhere near as beloved an institution of college football Saturdays in Death Valley!!!
