bowman is pretty much ideal, but it might be fun to spice it up a little bit. some other ideas:
- amphitheater across from the library/reflection pond - field above strom thurmond institute - historic riggs field - close down the main drag through downtown - block of the lawn and streets around fort hill/calhoun house

My thoughts

I agree Bowman is ideal. The size/location is great, but the ability to park 18 wheelers on it is a big plus for the gameday people I think.
Amphitheater: Band needs that space!
Field above strom: I think the library is a bit underwhelming from the back. But more importantly, I think it would be pretty hard to set up there.
Riggs: That would be so cool! But it would destroy the soccer field.
Downtown: Solid idea. Could be cool.
Fort Hill: Coolest idea I think, if we can somehow be looking over Death Valley. But they like to have multiple stages and not too much room to be found all jammed in there.

I could see them doing it from the gate outside the Rock.

However, the Scroll of Honor park could be damaged with all the foot traffic.
My other choice would be at the bottom of the Hill with the crowd standing on the Hill. What better way to show the college football world what the Hill is about.

I love this idea and I bet that Musburger would really like the Esso as a backdrop. However, they would pretty much have to shutdown Hwy 93 and that's not going to happen.

I think tailgating spots get in the way in most of those

... traffic already a nightmare, no way the shut down College Ave for almost 24 hours (or however long it takes them to set up and take down). Nor will they probably allow them on Riggs because it would destroy the field. It would be neat to see them in a different spot though, just to show off some more of the campus.

amphitheater's a great idea - have the reflection pond and the library in the background.
Or they could put it in one of the IPTAY lots with DV in the background.
