hey grandpaw, what's for supper?

here it's grilled skinless bone-in chicken thighs with a nice rub, wild rice blend with sauteed spinach stirred in, roasted green beans. Red wine.
BTW, Mrs No had a good idea for using those lil packs of country ham scraps in recipes over time. They're great for a pot of beans, etc, but kinda hard to keep fresh over time. She spread out the pieces on a sheet pan, froze them, then put them in a plastic freezer container. They don't stick together, so you grab a couple pieces as you need them. There's some in the spinach/rice dish.
Whatayahavin'?

Comfort food. Fried chicken sandwich and banana pudding from a place called the Rooster and Crow in Wilmington. It's the best chicken sandwich I have ever had last time. I still haven't ordered yet though today. I will in a bit.

those concert venues on the mall are great for non-mega shows, been to many. Lotsa vineyards and breweries. Nice town. Hard to drive around. Insane real estate prices. Go see all the Jefferson/Monroe stuff. One day when you're slumming, go to the Virginian for their Stumble Down Mac & Cheese.
A plug for Clemson alum daughter's employer, Devil's Backbone, their Nelson County location is great.

Had my one "bad" day of the week yesterday out at the pumpkin patch at Sinkland Farms.
Mini donuts, a fru-fru coffee drink, then Sicilian gravy and red wine when we got home.
Back on the wagon today.

tonight it was some of that endangered species stuff - dark chocolate with chocolate nibs.
Forgot we had a little of last night's wine still in the bottle. Should have finished it off.
Oh well. I'll sleep better without it.

the day after a Clemson win, as they have in past years. Just not advertised as much, seems like. "Clemson50" code.
Finally took advantage today - The Works (supreme) XL size for $9.99 ($10.59 w/tax). Lotta pizza for a ten dollar bill.

We are trying Blue Apron now.
Pretty easy recipe and good piece of fish, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 as far as these type of meals go
