Why No Alabama Fatigue? Yet, there was Clemson Fatigue?
Dec 31, 2021, 10:39 PM

I need someone to help me understand how the college football world "never gets tired of seeing Alabama in the National Championship Game"?
Yet, there were so many reported belly-aching stories of people being "tired of seeing Clemson"! I just need someone to explain, how is it more palatable to see Alabama than Clemson?
Is it Dabo? Is it because we are party-crashers to the "big-boy-only-dance"? What is it?

The general public is way more sick of Alabama than they were of us.

Those stories were by those with an agenda. It was because we didn't have an SEC logo on our jersey.

Thank ya'll for those answers! I do work around a bunch of mostly dirty-foot-goat fans and dirt ###### fans! Maybe that's where I got the impression of the Clemson fatigue.
I also read at least one or two (yes, I know) ESPN pieces that were talking about college football and it mentioned that people were getting tired of always seeing Clemson and Alabama. They gave some fans input in the piece and they specifically mentioned Clemson!
And, yep! I get it about Dabo as well! I think he is a genuine guy; because I have seen him over multiple interviews over the years and I know he is consistent. Outsiders only see the highlights and believe, "this guy can't be real"!
I get it; but they are wrong!
Thanks again!

I don’t say how you can say you get it about Dabo.. Those words should never come out of a Tiger Fan’s mouth. There is nothing to get!
Except I know there are many so called fans on this board that don’t like Dabo.. they would rather have some cussing fussing jerk than to have a good Christian man like Dabo.
He shines the light on them!

First of all, Clemson game ratings were higher than Oklahoma's. Second, Bama typically outdraws Clemson. The "fatigue thing" is all geographical envy and ESPN-SEC preference.
A legitimate preference IMHO as Bama is the top draw in college football. And for the first time in seven years, UGA is better than Clemson.
Fans around the country like some change -- but they also like Dabo in the west/midwest.

More and more people in this country are just bandwagon sports fan. I see tons of people from New York that are Bama fans because they only root for winners, makes them feel good.....kind of sad actually

So very true! I work with a person that has likely never even been involved with sports on any level in any capacity claiming to be a Bama fan! They are from an area between Clover and York and they went to college in Florence. They are undercover "shamecocks" fans really - who have to be associated with a winner, "not named Clemson"! Alabama fans from birth would be surprised I am sure to find the number of "Tide-fans" in South Carolina! It's actually kind of sad on some level!
The desperate need to feel apart of something that's significant - which in the very nature of leaving the "shamecocks" is an admission that they "are not significant"!
SMH! It's "every kid gets a trophy" mentality played out in a funky way!

I had Alabama fatigue by 2013. At this point I am just having to accept this is the greatest dynasty modern college football will ever see and taking it in as just that. Thankful to witness it as history so I can tell my grandkids about it but miserable living through it.
What people have going against Clemson and Dabo is that they just see everything at face value. They don't know the nuances and the culture that has grown and is embued into the program like we do, so they can't appreciate it and see it as "fake personalities". It's really as simple as that.

Actually, I always saw the “Clemson fatigue” thing as a great compliment. It meant we were/are such consistent winners that people wanted a change, which I think is kinda natural for sports fans. When dynasties get rolling, more and more people just watch to see them get knocked off. For many viewers though having both Clemson and Bama in the mix meant no matter who lost, the winner was same old/same old. We are okay with that, as are Bama fans, but not much of anyone else.
Besides, it’s not “South Carolina fatigue” or “nc state fatigue” or “Georgia fatigue,” so I’ll take it.

There is nothing to understand, but maybe it would help if you went back to the 1950's and 60's when the N.Y Yankees and Boston Celtics were ruling the world Everybody loves a winner, nobody loves a loser .But Clemson was neither. Clemson was that team that came knocking on the door, uninvited and sort of turned the world of college football upside down. But as of late they haven't been able to maintain that staying power of an Alabama. Dabo said after his first NC that if you want to "be the best you got to best the best".The last 2 years Clemson has not been able to match Alabama. Another thing ,now more than ever sports is driven by the money and the media, and the media has put its money on one conference ,and one team Alabama. And as long as they keep winning there will be no fatigue .But let them lose a couple of semifinal or final and people will get fatigued.

I guarantee there is plenty of Alabama fatigue all over the country except in Alabama. ESPN’s incestuous relationship with the SEC is the main reason ESPN spins the “everybody loves Alabama” narrative. Also, NEVER underestimate their disdain for Dabo’s open Christianity.

I travel all over the country for work and I can tell you that almost everyone I encounter can't stand Dabo. And I don't think it's a faith issue but the fact that he talks and when he does everything is sunshine and roses. The fact that he makes 8.3 million a year probably attributes to the dislike as well. You'll hear more from Dabo in one interview than you hear from Saban in a year.

the SEC / ESPN spin machine to promote that agenda. Clemson is the only school to come along and make Bama's job of winning everything tougher.
And, far as that is concerned, they better gear up again, because, like a bad penny, CLEMSON will be back causing Bama fans heartburn next year.
You really shouldn't eat pennies, bad or otherwise, but you know what I meant......

I agree with the ones that say that it is ESPiN protecting there golden goose and the general public has Bama fatigue.
My fatigue is in them trying to make the rest of the SEC into Bama, the rest of the B1G into Ohio State, but make Clemson into the rest of the ACC.
