Saying..they’ve been the party of the KLu-Klux Klan, of Jim Crow Laws, Racism, being against ‘64 & ‘65 Civil Rights Acts for Blacks with historical long filibusters to stall passage, aligne & approve & finance BLM & Aftiva brown shirt militant groups, embrace Socialist-Marxust-Communists in their Left wing membership, support abortion 100% over supporting the unborn or adoption alternates, try to circumvent the Constitution regularly, use theFBI & DOJ to push a 2-tier justice system towards opponents, purposely import many millions of non-vetted illegal foreign nationals for future voters & to water-down the majority citizenry, start wars & increase spending & raise taxes more than not, etc.

WHY are they needed or irrelevant since overall they are a thorn and deterrent to civil & peaceful governance!

Because racist conservatives used to be Dems and then they switched to the Republican party eventually due to opposition to civiil rights and integration.

Pretty sure a republican president (Eisenhower) sent troops to schools to fight segregation while a democrat president, Wilson, (re)segregated the armed forces.
