TCU AD

I couldn't get the link to work, but at a breakfast meeting in Lubbock, Tex. this morning, the TCU AD said that Clemson, FSU, and Miami were interested in joining the Big 12. The significance of that is that it is the first public statement from someone involved with the Big 12.

A Big 14 East Division with Clemson, WVU, FSU, GT, and Miami would be good news for Clemson. That takes away much of the travel problems.

yes? if you include wvu/tcu the big12ish is currently 10

members. if you add 4[cu, miami, gt and fsu] as the op suggested that would bring the total to 14.
7 would be in each side of the draw; with miami, fsu, wvu, cu and gt holding down 5 of those spots, that would 2 current big12ish members would have to fill out the side and end up traveling east... a lot.
i simply wanted to know who the lucky 2 would be and can't imagine they'd be happy with those arrangements.

lol... the best 'plan' imo was a 16 team plan that broke

teams into 4 divisions with cu, fsu, miami and gt being one.
we don't live in a vacuum. too many people are trying to fix clemson's side of the equation with no apparent concern for the impact.

That would give an Eastern Division of WV...VT...NCSt...CU...GT...FLSt...Miami... and TCU. There might have to be some sort of financial reimbursement to TCU for travel but it would only be 4 aways per year. Each division would have the 7 intra-divisonal games and 1 crossover game per year which would go a long way toward maintaining traditional rivalries. TCU is in Fort Worth with easy travel out of/into DAL/FW airport. Though they have played some of the current BIG12 teams more than the ACC teams mentioned, they have the least history of all the teams that would make up the Western Division. The BIG12/16 could then restore their Championship Game.

somewhat.
i see 16 teams broken into 4 divisions if ND and Pitt, which have been rumored, enter into the plans.
who knows, but let's worry about 12, then 14 and then maybe 16.
many a slip twix the cup...

Also, this would bring us back to 8 conference games which

would allow for the instate warm-up, another home game, and maintain the SC game. The 12th game could be a slot for early season match-ups like AUB or GA. Maintain the status quo, dump the ACC bb schools, occupy the recruiting grounds from WV, VA, NC, SC, GA, and FL and essentially surrounding the SEC on both sides.
