Did people hire other people to do all this home improvement work?

did they get some of this stuff at the ACE or True Value type places?

Did regular people even buy lumber?

Were Saturdays fun back then?

everything else. Big companies didn't kill "Main Street" so much as the better people on "Main Street" saw a way to beat everybody else. It is the American way.

after the farm got going good, dad got a job at the local sawmill.. then we got the well cut wood for adding the loft onto the house.
