Used a big Sam's container. Leave about an inch at the top as the peppercorns expand. Fill it to the top with bourbon (I used Maker's). Seal the mason jar and let it sit a week. Few shakes every few days.

After a week, strain the peppercorns in a strainer, then spread them on a pan and smoke them at 250 for an hour or two.

Then grind them until you get a coarse black pepper.

Substitute that pepper for anything, like the pepper I use on a brisket.

I've never tried this but it looked cool. Will see.

You can also add fresh garlic into the jar if desired.
