Welp, at the vet again

3rd time in 30 days for my 11 year old shepherd mix. He’s gotten where he can barely put any weight in his front left leg. X rays 2 weeks ago showed nothing but it’s gotten so much worse I’m having them look again. Really suspect bone cancer based on how rapid this came on and a growth that’s formed around his shoulder but I really hope not.

No arthritis or fractures either. All great news but still can’t figure out why he’s barely been able to walk for a month. Started him on something for neuropathic pain in case it’s nerve related.

I got our 5 month old golden doodle jabbed with it the other day.

I expect Bill Gates will be taking him over any day.

A ton of ticks around my house and I’m annoyed at myself for not thinking of it, and more irritated that I haven’t heard the idea come out of my vet’s mouth to this point.

I had a dog that had Lyme

he would have what I would call "spells" of stiffness in his legs. Be fine for weeks, then for a week or so barely be able to get around. Then it would just go away. Then it would repeat after a period of perfect health. Developed some kidney problems later in life.

He died of a heart attack ON THE VET'S EXAM TABLE. Was in for a routine yearly checkup/rabies shot, and just fell over dead while the vet was looking at him. Never saw a vet administer nitroglycerine (or even knew they had that in-house) but they did. Didn't work.

Do you have a lot of Lyme trees on your property?

Not sure if that's relevant or not.

If I did, I could build a tree house in it, completely

We had a shepherd mix who lived to be a few weeks shy of 15

and starting around 11 or 12 he started having really bad issues with joints/arthritis. We gave him some glucosamine early on and it seemed to help but after awhile it was daily anti inflammatories and eventually heavy hitting drugs. His hip dysplasia gave him the most troubles. Doggie CBD didn't seem to do much other than make his breath smell like weed.

Poor doggo. Give him some pets treats and tell him he's a good boy for me.

had that happen with a cocker years ago

developed a lipoma near his shoulder that put outward pressure there so caused pain with walking. Thank the good Lord was decided for us when we were opting pain management vs putting him down, was too old for surgery
