He's not yet 9, and wearing a size 9 men's cleat.
His hand is an adult M.
He got fitted for a 32 inch bat.
I'm not sure if he's in the right sport, but I'm not sure I can afford to feed him much longer.

depends on where your at. we had plenty of tournaments here in the upstate to satisfy. did plan one away weekend a season just for fun. If you are in Atl area, absolutely no need, most teams go there to play at Lakepoint etc with East Cobb program being there

not that we had aspirations of grandiose baseball careers, they just all loved playing the sport and we joined teams where we enjoyed hanging out with the families.
yeah, it got expensive.

I was more shocked at the size of my kid

he's in 3rd grade and looks like he should be in middle school. 99 percentiler since birth. He cried after practice because his feet hurt because his cleats were a size and a half too small, whoops.
I do not expect a superstar, just a kid happy to play ball with his friends.
Everyone keeps telling me it gets expensive but my daughter is an equestrian and we've been traveling all over for her so in comparison this is budget friendlier. Finding a sport she loves and excels in competitively has changed her life... so many life lessons learned in sports.

My kid isn't THAT big, but he has been in adult shoes since he was 9

which is infinitely more expensive as you are well aware. Not to mention he goes through them pretty quickly. We just find stuff on the Nike app on big sale and get them.
He will soon be able to wear my shoes, not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing. He is in a size 9, I wear an 11. He already steals my flip flops.
Having your kids go from cheap kids clothes to designer adult clothes is a cottam eye opener.
Also, FML for introducing my wife and daughter to Aviator Nation.

In every picture, this chick looks like her parents are making her try on winter coats in JC Penny, and she wants to be meeting her friends at Chick Filet.

what's on sale. He's generally happy as long as I don't try to make him wear non athletic shorts outside of school (uniforms). He refers to anything with a collar as "formal wear."
Daughter of has to wear uniforms too, so she's mostly lululemon/aerie which ain't cheap but isn't aviator nation expensive either. Most of her expense is the horse gear. $400 boots to shovel horse #### in. Good lord that child has a lot of expensive hair and beauty products though. Apparently this is trendy. FML.

Florence and on tourny weekends these parents would come in and drop an easy 1-2K on new equipment.
New 500 dollar Nokona glove in kangaroo skin or some bull ####
2 bats @ 400 each
New pants, new cleats etc etc.
I loved asking them what their batting average was with all of this equipment. .150

What gets old quickly is week long tournaments with one game per day and sucky teams.
You play a team at 8 AM, mercy rule them in 45 minutes, and then nothing until 3 PM the next day.

What do you do for a living? Travel sports are super ridiculously expensive. If you ain't a doctor or lawyer you better start casing out some banks to knock off. LOL I would never encourage someone to do such a thing but that is how expensive it is. Goo Luck!
