Running the ball hard - through and over defenders - opens the offense up.

Me and the wife have been talking about that, nobody can deny the team looks completely different without him

He was being keyed on all game long from the opposing defenses, since he has proven his talent, but we have more talent that we're seeing today, sometimes you've go to mix things up for the defenses and keepum guessing

Not sure but we have not abandoned the run game which I feel we do every game. We run 150-200 yards we are hard to beat.
SC game last year would have been a win by 10 until they tried to make it the DJ show.

I think so!
Disrespecting the coaching staff in front of the team can lead to no one else giving a shlt! That dude being out may be a blessing.

I think Shipley is a very mediocre pure running back, because he has no vision, middling speed, and middling strength. He's a jack of all trades, which keeps him from being elite but makes him a value add. But no, I don't think his play was part of the problem. I do think his attitude is part of the problem. He's so desperate to be seen as a leader, but doesn't seem to be well-liked in the locker room (basing that off of player interviews last Summer) and he throws temper tantrums to coaches and throws his teammates under the bus. So I do think he's toxic to the team, but is a decent enough athlete.

That's really a good thought, I hadn't thought of that,, but yes he'd be an excellent at that position ,a bigger stronger version of H. Renfrow!!

I don't think he was the right back for this particular team. We look much better with the stronger backs that can break some tackles. Ship runs hard, but he's just small and doesn't break tackles.

Teams game plan against shipley, the problem is we forced too much with him and running up the middle for one yard too much

Shipley didn’t throw five interceptions and fumble the ball nine times this year like Cade

Could be coincidence, but it is hard not to notice the correlation.

It’s hard to deny he isn’t after watching clearly our best half of football this season.
He throws temper tantrums at an alarming rate for such a mediocre player. He trips over his own feet so often which is why he can’t break free like Mafah.
He has no vision and runs right into his own blockers half the time.
He comes off like a spoiled brat that’s in Wal Mart with his parents and gets told no he can’t have a toy and then proceeds to show his @ss.
If it keeps Mafah here… I want him gone.

No. A pick 6 and a muff have been the difference.
The ND safety totally whiffed on Mafah’s long TD.
I’m psyched about this first half too, but let’s not go overboard on Shipley. Kid plays and runs hard, he isn’t one of the problems…IMO.

I don’t think he’s the problem , like some have said I think is trying to gameplan around him it seemed was the problem. He def is a great athlete but his and mafahs roles should have been reversed … like mafah getting 15 Carries and ship 5 like in the Miami game. And we could still run a lot Of 2 back sets and throw to ship some but mafah is the better all around running back and that’s not even a question , what sucks is a ton of ppl have been saying it and I hope we don’t lose mafah for us not using him like we should. He’s a heck of a back when given the chance m.
