…how often at both the collegiate and professional levels an entire umpire crew loses track of/doesn’t know what the count is. All 4 umps are supposed to have a clicker/counter to keep up with balls and strikes, so it’s not like they have to remember it in their heads. As the radio broadcast said, the situation tonight was an absolute embarrassment for baseball officiating. And the fact that it took them 5+ minutes to go back and review the prior pitches made it even more embarrassing. I expect umps to be dog crap when calling balls and strikes, but forgetting the count despite having a device that keeps track of it? Come on blue!
