Interesting tid bit from the Scar game, crowd noise, Clowney

This article notes that Aaron Murray was tapping the centers hip to call for the ball because of the crowd noise. Clowney figured it out. Dude is already a beast as it is, let alone knowing when to go after it. Just goes to show you that a truly hostile environment can definitely have an impact on the game. It should be interesting to see how the supposedly best team in Scar history fares @ LSU this weekend away from the cozy cockroach.

I watched every play he was in Saturday night. And now I see how he was reacting to the QB. And tapping of the hips explains why he was so quick busting up so many plays. IMPO he is the best college DE in the game today. He is a beast at his position. I hope he gets a badly sprain ankle or knee or something before our game. For the sake of Tajh's safety The dude takes over the D line with his physical play. ### I wish we could have gotten him. IMO he is the best player on the team as a soph. To beat the coots, you have to slow him down. Just watch and see who LSU focuses on Saturday night. And LSU does have O lineman that can slow him down. Or they better lol...GOOOOO LSU Tigerssss!!!

Boyd is a big boy and he can take a lick or two.

Think they are giving up 2.5 sacks a game, which is 108th in the country. Think that is what I read somewhere. Injuries have really hurt their o-line.

was the DC at Usuk they were famous for their defense that featured the blitz. They went to LSU and got the snot beat out of them. It was back when teams were not on tv every week so it was a big game. I loved watching that one almost as much as a Tiger win. Hope to see a repeat this week. Go Tigers!

USC doesn't blitz as much as you think

and Joe Lee's defense was predicated on "smoke and mirror" stunts to compensate for the lack of talent on the d-line. South Carolina's current d-line doesn't have to rely as much on trickery as Joe Lee's did.
That doesn't mean they are going to walk into Death Valley on Saturday and dominate.

We have barely blitzed at all this year. Thats what makes our defense so tough. Get pressure with 4 and drop 7 in coverage.
