Tyler Venables post

Nov 13, 2022, 6:34 PM

Doesn’t look promising. Not sure when this happened yesterday.

He had ugly slip on a play that went out of bounds looked like slipped on ice. Someone said hit that orange mat on sideline.

Yes it was the orange mat on the sideline. We had another player i saw slip as well. I think we need to get rid of them things, I don't know what would be better to go there, but our guys were slipping on them all day and one of them is probably out for the season because of it now. When I saw it happen I shuddered cuz I knew he'd hurt something bad by the way he slipped.

Yeah, surely we could come up with some kind of mat with enough traction to keep people from bustingtheirass - and their hamstrings.

I saw it real time. Looked like a deer crossing a highway at full speed. I didn't think it "looked good" then, but with his comments... Good luck with the rehab, TV24.

He's done for the year and when he's in there, we're better that's for sure. Doesn't sound good for Collins this week either.

Most disappointing and he made couple good D plays in game.

Rushed the QB once & caused a rushed throw.

It was on the sideline late in the game. Looked like he slipped on the mat after chasing someone out of bounds. He immediately hopped on the other leg when it happened. Didn’t show it since he was already on our sideline.

He slipped on that mat they have just off the sideline. I saw a couple of players slip on it. He grabbed his leg as soon as he slid.

Newly installed slip and slide on the sidelines.

Nov 13, 2022, 6:46 PM

Brinny slipped on it too.

Yea. He slipped on the mat. Looked like he hit a sheet of ice. Immediately grabbed the hammy. As someone else said, Brinny did also but not as bad. Definitely need something else in place of those. Kind of ridiculous having something like that causing injuries.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

figured it wasnt good when that play happened

Nov 13, 2022, 7:06 PM

all he did was slipped and fell then started holding his leg ..which indicated he tore something

all the pounding and strain and you hit a different surface and do that. Not sure what those mats are but that needs to be reevaluated. in the bench area is not where less traction is helpful.

What are those mats for?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Tyler Venables post

Nov 13, 2022, 7:54 PM

They are there because the natural grass gets worn down as the season goes on because of all the foot traffic along the sidelines during the season. I think things just got worn down enough to put them there this past week. Terrible place to have something that slippery. At the minimum it should be artificial turf , but why not just re-sod it at midpoint if the season. That would be the safest thing to do.

Yea, watching on tv, I noticed him on the sideline as the camera cut away.. it didn’t look good then, but being it happened our sideline, I figured the announcers didn’t pick up on what happened. ######..

Paint the worn grass and dirt orange. It's safer than those mats when running full speed and transitioning from the field to the sideline. Safety First!
