Two ACC teams in playoffs?

Highly, highly unlikely.

Just look at the preseason rankings. Zero or one ACC team ranked in the top 12.

The only hope to get to teams in is if the loser in Charlotte finishes 12-1 and then it is a toss up. (If the loser ends up 11-2 there may by a 5% chance of getting in.)

That's why FSU and Clemson need to get out of ACC and into B1G/SEC ASAP.

B1G and SEC will divide 9 at large bids between them.

To get two teams into the CFP the ACC would need two teams to finish in the top 10. One undefeated team and a one loss team. Perception is everything in polls.

That would mean both teams would have to be 12-0.

Regular season. Really, really, really unlikely.

When FSU/CLEMSON leave the ACC, you will most likely never see a ACC team in the CFP, unless they expand it to 68 teams.

Completely hypothetical, I do NOT believe this scenario happens. But if it does, I think two ACC Teams would get in.

Clemson goes undefeated (yes that includes beating UGA week 1) in the regular season.

FSU 11-1 regular season only loss a close one to Clemson.

With 6 games left after the Clemson loss gives them time to climb back up the rankings with some quality wins and other teams ahead of them losing.

Finally FSU wins in the ACC Championship in Overtime.

12-1 ACC Champ FSU and 12-1 NON ACC Champ Clemson both get in IMO.

This is of course assuming no massive injuries at the end of the season that screwed FSU like last year.

Lets get out of the ACC ASAP.

Go Tigers

That's the scenario where I put it at 50/50 to get 2 in.***

Barrett Sallee had Clemson @ 10 and FSU 11. With Utah in his top 10 as well, both our schools would make it. Just one ranking but I wouldn’t count it out

I disagree somewhat FSUBret bretfsu®

The analyst have shown a love of explosive offenses.

Depending on how the two ACC teams performed out of conference. If the 2nd place team has an explosive offense; I could see two.

Remember, the Big 10 folks don't care for the SEC claim to dominance either! If the powers that be don't think one of their teams beyond their champion can do it; why not give that explosive 2nd place ACC team a shot. Especially if there are some household names on those teams(marketability).
